The Academy of Sciences of the Islamic Republic of Iran () was established in 1988. It is one of the four academies of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The other three are: Iranian Academy of Medical Sciences, Iranian Academy of the Arts and Academy of Persian Language and Literature. Organization The academy consists of the president of the country as the director of the academy, a general body, the president of the academy (currently Mohammad Reza Mokhber Dezfouli), a scientific council, and the secretary of the academy. Mohammad Reza Mokhber Dezfouli (, born 1960, in Dezfoul) is an Iranian politician, physician, scholar, academic, professor at the University of Tehran and the current President of the Iranian Academy of Sciences. Mostafa Mohaghegh Damad
Mostafa Mohaghegh Damad (; born 1945) is an Iranian Shia cleric and scholar. Education Mostafa passed his Islamic education in Arabic literature, Quran, Hadith, Islamic philosophy, theology, and jurisprudence at the Fayzieh School in the Qom. He achieved the degree of Ijtihad in 1970. Also, he continued his modern academic education in Islamic Philosophy and graduated on 1969 from Tehran University. After that he achieved his Master of Science degree in Islamic Jurisprudence on 1980 from Tehran University. The Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution (SCCR; , shoraye a'ali enqelabe farhangi) is a conservative-dominated body based in Qom, set up at the time of Ayatollah Khomeini.
