Academic Grading In Greece
There are four grading systems (or scales) in Greece – four different GPA – one for higher education, one for secondary education, and two for primary education (grades 3 to 4 and 5 to 6). Primary school In 1st and 2nd grades in Greek primary schools there is only descriptive evaluation, with no grades included. In the 3rd and 4th grade grades are only letters (Α–Δ) and in 5th and 6th grades numbers ranging from 1–10 are used. Apolytirion
Apolytirio ( in Dimotiki from 1976–present; known as Apolytirion, , in Katharevousa from 1837–1976; abbreviated Apol., ) is the official senior secondary education school completion certificate (graduation qualification) in Greece (and Cyprus) obtained after successfully completing the third grade of lyceum (high school). It is graded on a 20-point scale. Specific conditions and rules apply to each type of lyceum in the Pan-Hellenic Examinations, based on subjects that are the same as or related to those of the General Lyceum. Polytechnic (Greece)
The Polytechnic ( Greek: Πολυτεχνείο) is the traditional name for institutions of higher education in Greece, dealing with engineering at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. There are currently two polytechnics that operate as independent (public) universities and five polytechnic schools that belong to universities. They consist mainly of Engineering departments and their undergraduate programs have a duration of 5 years (full-time).
