The Abkhazians in Turkey refers to citizens of Turkey who are ethnic Abkhazians originating from Abkhazia. In 2014, it was estimated that around 600,000 Abkhazians lived in Turkey of which 48,000 spoke Abkhaz. İbrahim Süreyya Yiğit
İbrahim Süreyya Yiğit (1880 – 4 November 1952) was a Turkish thinker, politician and a close friend of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. He was the only civilian signatory to the Amasya Declaration and participated in the Erzurum and Sivas Congresses. He served as a Member of the Turkish Grand National Assembly from 1923 until 1950. Abkhazia–Turkey Relations
Relations between Abkhazia and Turkey have not been not officially established. Although Turkey has not recognized Abkhazia's independence and regards it as de jure part of Georgia, the two governments reportedly have secret ties. Muhammed Tokcan
Muhammed Tokcan ( Abkhaz name Tug-ipa), (born 1969, in Gebze), was one of the hijackers arrested for the hijacking of the ''Avrasya'' in 1996. The leader of the militants, Muhammed Tokcan, escaped from the prison in Dalaman on October 6, 1997. Tokcan was arrested again at Atatürk Airport in Istanbul on April 29, 1999, as he tried to flee to Sochi under a false passport. He was paroled on December 22, 2000. Süleyman Seba
Süleyman Seba (; 5 April 1926 – 13 August 2014) was a Turkish football player of Abkhazian origin and was the longest presiding chairman of the Istanbul-based multisports club Beşiktaş. He was also an intelligence officer for National Intelligence Organization (Turkey) in the mission of countering communism. Tayfur Havutçu (born 23 April 1970) is a Turkish football manager and former professional player who was most recently the manager of Süper Lig club Kasımpaşa. He was part of the Turkey national team squad that reached third place at the 2002 FIFA World Cup. Gündüz Kılıç
"Baba" Gündüz Kılıç (29 October 1918 – 17 May 1980) was a Turkish football player and coach. He was Ali Kılıç's son and Altemur Kılıç's brother. Haydar Zafer
Haydar Zafer (1916 – 1994) was a Turkish wrestler. He competed in the men's freestyle middleweight at the 1952 Summer Olympics. Wrestling career Haydar Zafer grew up in Bolu and started Turkish oil wrestling there as a teenager. After 1945, he also pursued Olympic wrestling. He preferred the free style, but also wrestled in the Greco-Roman style. In 1949 he joined the Turkish national team, where he was coached by Nuri Boytorun.
