Sodom (band)
Sodom is a German thrash metal band from Gelsenkirchen, formed in 1981. They have gone through many lineup changes, leaving bassist/vocalist Tom Angelripper as the only constant member. The band is currently composed of Angelripper, guitarists Frank "Blackfire" Gosdzik (who was a member of Sodom from 1987 to 1989 and rejoined in 2018) and Yorck Segatz, and drummer Toni Merkel. Along with Kreator, Destruction and Tankard, Sodom has been referred to as one of the "Big Four" of Teutonic thrash metal. While three of those bands (except Tankard) created a sound that would influence the death metal and black metal genres, Sodom's early music style would greatly influence many late 1980s and early 1990s black metal bands more than others. ''Tapping the Vein'' is the fifth studio album by German thrash metal band Sodom, released on 1 August 1992 through Steamhammer/ SPV. The album was recorded with producer Harris Johns at Dierks Studios in Cologne, Germany. The release marks the studio debut of guitarist Andy Brings and is the last album to feature original member Chris Witchhunter on drums. The album represents a return to a heavy and fast-paced musical direction, and features a notable death metal influence. ''Tapping the Vein'' received positive reviews from critics, who noted the band's efforts in modernising their sound. The album peaked at number 56 on Germany's ''Official Top 100 Charts'', and was promoted the album on a tour throughout Germany and Japan in 1992. ''Get What You Deserve'' is the sixth studio album by German thrash metal band Sodom, released on 10 January 1994 via Steamhammer/ SPV. This was the band's last album to feature guitarist Andy Brings, and their first release with drummer Guido "Atomic Steif" Richter as the replacement of founding member Christian "Witchhunter" Dudek. Udo Jürgens
Udo Jürgens (born Jürgen Udo Bockelmann; 30 September 1934 – 21 December 2014) was an Austrian composer and singer of popular music whose career spanned over 50 years. He won the Eurovision Song Contest 1966 for Austria, composed close to 1,000 songs, and sold over 100 million records. In 2007, he additionally obtained Swiss citizenship. He is credited with broadening German-language pop music beyond the traditional post-war " Schlager" (hit song) in the 1950s by infusing it with a modern pop appeal and French chanson style.
