Retrieved on 9 December 2013. is a low-cost Android (operating system), Android-based tablet computer promoted by the Government of India as part of an initiative to link 25,000 colleges and 400 universities in an e-learning program. It was produced by the British-Canadian company DataWind, and manufactured by the company, at a production center in Hyderabad, India, Hyderabad. The tablet was officially launched as the ''Aakash'' in New Delhi on 5 October 2011.
