A Taste of Fear (aliases: Something of Fear or A Bit of Fear or Something from Fear or A Touch of Fear, Arabic: ''شيء من الخوف'', translit: ''Shey Min El Khouf'' or ''Shey min al-Khouf'') is a 1969 Egyptian film directed by Hussein Kamal and produced by Salah Zulfikar. The film is based on a short story by the great writer Tharwat Abaza, but the greatest credit for the political projections is the result of the modifications made by Abdel Rahman El-Abnudi to the script. The film was filmed in black and white, despite the possibility of filming in color, due to the spread of color films at this time, due to the director Hussein Kamal's exploitation of black and white shades in a skill that would not have been possible if it had been filmed in color. The film was nominated for the Moscow International Film Festival best film award. Hussein Kamal
Hussein Kamal (; 17 August 1932 – 24 March 2003) was an Egyptian television, film and theatre director. He is considered to be an important director of traditional Egyptian cinema. One of his most famous films is ''Chitchat on the Nile'' (1971), a critique of the decadence of Egyptian society during the Nasser era. His 1972 film '' Empire M'' was entered into the 8th Moscow International Film Festival in 1973. Salah Zulfikar (1926–1993) was an Egyptian actor and film producer, who appeared in over 100 feature films, several short films, stage, television and radio serials. Zulfikar's film debut was in 1956 in a leading role becoming one of the most dominant leading men in Egyptian cinema. He starred in action, crime, war, drama, horror, romance, and romantic comedies. Salah Zulfikar's film debut was in '' Wakeful Eyes'' (1956) alongside Shadia, and his successful career in film lasted into the 1990s. Farouk I (; ''Fārūq al-Awwal''; 11 February 1920 – 18 March 1965) was the tenth ruler of Egypt from the Muhammad Ali dynasty and the penultimate King of Egypt and the Sudan, succeeding his father, Fuad I, in 1936 and reigning until his overthrow in a military coup in 1952.
