''A Place for Everything'' was a Canadian television nature series which aired on CBC Television CBC Television (also known as CBC TV, or simply CBC) is a Television in Canada, Canadian English-language terrestrial television, broadcast television network owned by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, the national public broadcasting, p ... from 1964 to 1966. Premise This series concerned ecology, covering topics such as endangered or lesser-known animal species. The series included a two-part feature on Arctic marine life while another explored some unpopulated Canadian islands. Production Toronto-based Dennis Spence produced the series, with Vancouver's Tom Connachie providing additional production work on three episodes. The musical score was provided by Ricky Hyslop. William W. H. Gunn, a biologist, provided scriptwriting and advice to the series and recorded nature sounds for the production. Ricky Hyslop
Ricky Hyslop (26 April 1915 – 2 June 1998) was a Canadian violinist, conductor, composer, and arranger. He was commissioned to write works by the Buffalo Philharmonic (the symphonic poems ''Toronto 1830'' and ''Mizu Uni''), clarinetist Avrahm Galper (''Peanut Suite'' for solo clarinet), and guitarist Gregory Alliston (''Barca for guitar and soprano''). Several of his works for violin have been published by The Frederick Harris Music Co, Limited, including three graded volumes for teaching purposes between 1987–1989. Life and career Born in Vancouver, Hyslop began his violin studies as a child in his native city with Allard de Ridder and Jean de Rimanoczy. He began his performance career as a teenager performing as a soloist on CNRV radio. Early on in his career he served as concertmaster or as a member of various orchestras associated with the CRBC and CBC in Vancouver. Moe Koffman
Morris "Moe" Koffman, OC (28 December 1928 – 28 March 2001) was a Canadian jazz saxophonist and flautist, as well as composer and arranger. During a career spanning from the 1950s into the 2000s, Koffman was one of Canada's most prolific musicians, working variously in clubs and sessions and releasing 30 albums. With his 1957 record ''Cool and Hot Sax'' on the New York-based Jubilee label, Koffman became one of the first Canadian jazz musicians to record a full-length album. Koffman was also a long-time member of Rob McConnell's Boss Brass. His most famous pieces, "Curried Soul" and "Koff Drops", have been the theme music for the CBC Radio One show, '' As It Happens'', for over 50 years.
