''A Day of Happiness'' () is a 1963 Soviet drama film directed by Iosif Kheifits and based on a novella by Yuri German. The film premiered in the USSR on July 27, 1964. Plot The film follows Aleksandr Nikolaevich Berezkin, a dedicated ambulance doctor who meets a beautiful woman named Alexandra Nikolaevna Orlova—who, as it turns out, shares his full name—on a city bus. Eager to get to know her, Aleksandr awkwardly jokes, bends the truth, and pretends to be a provincial visitor so that she agrees to show him the sights of Leningrad. As they wander the city together, the ice in her voice gradually melts. However, Alexandra is married, and her life is not as simple as it first appears. She is loved and loves in return, lives in material comfort, and appears fulfilled as a housewife. Iosif Yefimovich Kheifits (24 April 1995) was a Soviet film director, winner of two Stalin Prizes (1941, 1946), People's Artist of USSR (1964), Hero of Socialist Labor (1975). Member of the Communist Party of Soviet Union since 1945. Life and career Kheifets was born 17 December 1905 in Minsk. In 1927 he graduated from the Leningrad Technical-Screen Art (present-day Saint Petersburg State Institute of Film and Television). In 1928, he graduated from the cinema faculty of . In 1928, Iosif Kheifets came to work at the film studio Sovkino (present-day Lenfilm Studio). Larisa Golubkina
Larisa Ivanovna Golubkina (; March 9, 1940 – March 22, 2025) was a Soviet and later Russian actress and singer. Life and career Golubkina was born on March 9, 1940. She entered the Moscow Musical School in 1955, graduating after four years, and then enrolled into the Lunacharsky State Institute for Theatre Arts. During her studies, she made her screen debut in the 1962 comedy ''Hussar Ballad'', in the role of Shurochka Azarova. Golubkina matriculated in 1964, becoming a regular actor in the Russian Army Theatre. She appeared in some twenty movies and in numerous theater productions. In 1991, she was declared a People's Artist of the RSFSR, and in 2000 was awarded the Order of Friendship. She also received the Order of the Badge of Honour twice. Golubkina was the second wife of the late Andrei Mironov. Her daughter is the actress Maria Golubkina. Larisa Golubkina died on March 22, 2025, at the age of 85.
