''A Crime'' (Swedish: ''Ett brott'') is a 1940 Swedish crime drama film directed by Anders Henrikson and starring Edvin Adolphson, Karin Ekelund and Carl Barcklind.Qvist & Von Bagh p.110 It was shot at the Centrumateljéerna Studios in Stockholm and on location in the city. The film's sets were designed by the art director Arthur Spjuth. It was adapted from a 1933 play of the same title by Sigfrid Siwertz, itself inspired by the real-life Von Sydow murders case. Hilda Borgström
Hilda Teresia Borgström (13 October 1871 – 2 January 1953) was a Swedish stage and film actress. Biography Born in 1871 in Stockholm, Borgström made her film debut in 1912. She starred in leading parts in Victor Sjöström's silent films '' Ingeborg Holm'' (aka ''Margaret Day'') (1913) and ''Körkarlen'' (aka ''The Phantom Carriage/The Stroke of Midnight/Thy Soul Shall Bear Witness'') in 1921. Borgström started out to be a dancer and trained at the old Royal Theatre's ballet school in Stockholm 1880–1887. Later she decided to turn to the theatre instead and studied drama. Her professional debut on stage came in 1890 at one of Albert Ranft's theatres. Einar Axelsson (February 25, 1895–October 30, 1971) was a Swedish stage and film actor. Biography Einar Rickard Axelsson was born at Lund in Skåne, Sweden. He was the son of actors Konstantin and Amelie Axelsson. He was the brother of journalist George Axelsson (1898–1966). After playing at the Folkteatern in Gothenburg (1913–1914), he joined the theater company of Karin Swanström which was active until the early 1920s. From 1925 to 1941, Axelsson was one of the leading names in various theater companies associated with Ernst Eklund.
