AWAL (an initialism of Artists Without a Label) is a British music distribution company owned by Sony Music Entertainment. The company serves as an alternative to the traditional music label deal, offering deal structures to artists and independent labels without them giving up ownership or control. In 2021, Sony Music Entertainment purchased AWAL from Kobalt Music Group for $430m. Services AWAL's main service is digital music distribution, but also includes marketing, physical distribution, data analytics, radio, and synchronization licensing. AWAL's artists keep their music and creative rights, unlike the traditional record label. Kevin Garrett (born March 25, 1991) is an American musician from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania based out of Brooklyn, New York. He has released two EPs, as well as a full-length album, and was nominated for a Grammy Award for his work on Beyoncé's album ''Lemonade''. Kevin John Bacon (born 30 March 1959 in Rotherham, Yorkshire, England) is an English musician and record producer best known for his work with Jonathan Quarmby under the moniker Bacon & Quarmby, as well as his tenure as bassist for the band the Comsat Angels.
