''Am730'', is free daily Cantonese newspaper published in Hong Kong, the third with the prior two being ''Headline Daily'' and '' Metropolis Daily''. Shih Wing-ching, chairman of '' Centaline Holdings'', a property agency, is the founder of the newspaper. He introduced the new paper due to the unprecedented success of ''Metropolis Daily'', a pioneer in this market. ''Metropolis Daily'' was founded in 2002, and was so successful that it broke even in only fourteen months. Realising the profitability of the market, Shih established ''am730'' in late July 2005. ''Headline Daily'' () was launched on 12 July 2005, by Sing Tao Newspaper Group Limited and became the second free Chinese-language newspaper published officially in Hong Kong (''Metro Daily'' being the first). The paper is only distributed on weekdays and is aimed at the working class. The estimated average daily circulation of the paper is around 900,000-1,000,000. The paper provides local and international news as well as articles on business news, entertainment, lifestyle and sports. Shih Wing-ching
Shih Wing-ching (; born 17 March 1949 in Shanghai) is a Hong Kong businessman. His family are from Ningbo in Zhejiang province but he came to Hong Kong at an early age. In 1978 he established Centaline Property Agency Limited, which is now one of the largest property agencies in both Hong Kong and China. Shih is chairman of the board of Governors of Hong Kong Sinfonietta, a Council Member of Oxfam Hong Kong, and a Member of the Housing Authority, as well as the Commercial Properties Committee and the Subsidized Housing Committee of the Authority. He is active in charity and philanthropy. He founded, and continues to publish, the AM730 free daily newspaper. ''Metro Daily'' () was the Hong Kong edition of Metro, which publishes free newspapers around the world with 25 editions in 16 countries in 14 languages. It was the first free newspaper in Hong Kong. The Hong Kong version was first launched on 15 April 2002; it is distributed for free in the racks located in 49 Mass Transit Railway (MTR) stations except the Airport Station. According to the Hong Kong Audit Bureau of Circulations in September 2002, the daily circulation of the newspaper was 302,197 copies, making it the third largest daily newspaper in Hong Kong. The East Rail line () is one of ten lines of the Mass Transit Railway (MTR) system in Hong Kong. It used to be one of the three lines of the Kowloon–Canton Railway (KCR) network.
