AIK Bandy
AIK Bandy is the Bandy section of sports club Allmänna Idrottsklubben, currently located in Solna Municipality, Solna, which is just north of Stockholm. Former UEFA President and FIFA Vice President Lennart Johansson started as a leader here. Men's team The men's team was started in 1905. In the first year of bandy league system in Sweden, 1930–31, AIK entered in Division 1 (bandy), Division 1 Norra together with Hammarby IF Bandy, Hammarby IF, IF Vesta, IFK Rättvik, IK Sirius Bandy, IK Sirius, Skutskärs IF, SK Tirfing, and Västerås SK Bandy, Västerås SK and finished 1st. AIK then won the Championship final against the winner of Division 1 (bandy), Division 1 Södra, IF Göta, with 4–3 and became Swedish Champions. AIK previously played at Spånga Idrottspark. Elitserien (bandy)
The Elitserien (literally, the "Elite League") () is since the 2007–08 season the highest bandy league in Sweden. It consists of 14 teams. The season ends with one final game in March. The final was held at Studenternas IP in Uppsala from 1991 until 2012. In 2013 and 2014 the final was played at Friends Arena in Solna Municipality, Solna, and from 2015 to 2017 it was played at the Tele2 Arena. The final returned to 4,600-capacity Studenternas IP indoor stadium in 2018. Season structure During the regular season the fourteen teams play each other team at home and away - a total of 26 games per team. The top six teams directly qualify for the playoffs for the league championship, while the teams ranked from 7th to 10th enter an additional play-off to decide which teams take the other two championship play-off places. IK Sirius Bandy
IK Sirius is a Swedish bandy club located in Uppsala, currently playing in Elitserien. IK Sirius were formed in 1907 and play their home games at Studenternas Idrottsplats. History The sports club that became IK Sirius was founded on 9 August 1907, and got its current name on 5 April 1908 after having been discussing Svartbäckens IK and IK Spurt. At the time, several sports club existed in the city of Uppsala: IFK Uppsala, IF Thor, IF Heimdal, and Upsala IF. The sports club was founded for athletics, and took up bandy in 1908. IK Sirius' first success was becoming Swedish runners-up in 1918, they followed this up by becoming Swedish champions twice in 1921 and 1922, but they then didn't have any more success in the league until 1926 where they were runners-up and they were also runners-up in 1928. Bandy is a winter sport and ball sport played by two team sport, teams wearing Ice skates#Bandy skates, ice skates on a large ice surface (either indoors or outdoors) while using sticks to direct a ball into the opposing team's goal. 1913 Nordic Games
The 1913 Nordic Games was the fifth Nordic Games and was held in Stockholm in February 1913. It was formally international sports competitions in many disciplines, but because of the communications of the time it was still mostly domestic sportspeople participating. Among the sports were winter sports like bandy, speed skating and skiing but also motorsports and equestrian sports. Bandy The bandy tournament was a club tournament. Beside the Swedish teams, IFK Helsingfors from Finland also participated. Leipziger HC from Germany was scheduled to appear but the Germans eventually favoured to take part in the 1913 European Bandy Championships, which were held in Switzerland at the same time. Swedish bandy champions () is a title held by the winners of the final of the highest Sweden, Swedish bandy league played each year, Elitserien (bandy), Elitserien. The final is called ''Svenska bandyfinalen'' ("Swedish Bandy Final") and is played in March. IF Göta is a sports club in Karlstad, Sweden, founded in 1904. In the beginning, the club practised football and athletics. The club used to have a successful team in bandy, becoming Swedish champions six times, but now is only concentrated on athletics.
