Pouilly-en-Auxois
Pouilly-en-Auxois () is a Communes of France, commune in the Côte-d'Or Departments of France, department in eastern France. It is the summit of the Canal of Burgundy, which passes in a tunnel under the town. Geography The town was originally sited on the ''St Pierre'' hilltop surrounding a (now vanished) castle and walls built by the Dukes of Burgundy and the 13th/14th century Chapelle de Notre Dame Trouvée (Chapel of Our Lady Found). Beginning in the 16th century the town was rebuilt further down in the valley and in 1868 the new St Pierre church was built in what is now the city center. Arnay-le-Duc
Arnay-le-Duc () is a Communes of France, commune in the Côte-d'Or Departments of France, department in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of eastern France. Geography Arnay-le-Duc is located some 25 km north-west of Beaune and some 35 km south-east of Saulieu. Access to the commune is by the D906 road from Lacanche in the south-east passing through the town and continuing north-west. The D981 comes from the end of the A38 autoroute in the north-east and passes through the town continuing to the south-west where it becomes Route nationale, National Highway N81. These two roads were originally Gallo-Roman roads linking Autun and Alesia (city), Alesia, then in the Middle Ages linking the Rhone corridor to fairs in Champagne. Geography Aubigny-lès-Sombernon is located some 33 km west of Dijon and 12 km north-east of Créancey. Access to the commune is by road D905 (Route de Paris) from Sombernon in the east passing through the commune and the village and continuing north-west to Grosbois-en-Montagne.
