82nd Oregon Legislative Assembly
The 82nd Oregon Legislative Assembly is the current session of the Oregon Legislative Assembly, Oregon Legislature. It began January 9, 2023. The Democratic Party of Oregon holds a majority in both chambers, but no longer holds a supermajority. Democrats lost one senate seat in the 2022 Oregon State Senate election, resulting in a 17–13 majority, and lost two seats in the 2020 Oregon House of Representatives election, resulting in a 35–25 majority. Oregon Legislative Assembly
The Oregon Legislative Assembly is the state legislature for the U.S. state of Oregon. The Legislative Assembly is bicameral, consisting of an upper and lower house: the Senate, whose 30 members are elected to serve four-year terms; and the House of Representatives, with 60 members elected to two-year terms. There are no term limits for either house in the Legislative Assembly. Each Senate district is composed of exactly two House districts: Senate District 1 contains House Districts 1 and 2, SD 2 contains HD 3 and HD 4, and so on. The Oregon Republican Party is the state affiliate of the United States Republican Party in Oregon, headquartered in Salem. The party was established in the Oregon Territory in February 1857 as the "Free State Republican Party of Oregon" and held its first state convention on April 1, 1859, after Oregon achieved statehood. Roseburg, Oregon
Roseburg is a city in the U.S. state of Oregon. It is in the Umpqua River Valley in southern Oregon and is the county seat and most populous city of Douglas County. Founded in 1851, the population was 23,683 at the 2020 census, making it the principal city of the Roseburg, Oregon Micropolitan Statistical Area. Dallas Heard
Dallas Heard (born 1985) is an American politician. He currently serves as a Republican member of the Oregon Senate. Heard had previously served as a member of the Oregon House of Representatives from District 2 from 2015 until 2018. Heard served as Chairman of the Oregon Republican Party from 2021 until his resignation in 2022, citing “evil” within the party. In December 2022, he announced he would resign from his Senate seat at the beginning of the new year, citing the need to focus on his family. Bend is a city in and the county seat of Deschutes County, Oregon, United States. It is the principal city of the Bend Metropolitan Statistical Area. Beaverton is a city in Washington County, in the U.S. state of Oregon with a small portion bordering Portland in the Tualatin Valley. Kate Lieber is an American politician, currently currently serving as Majority Leader of the Oregon State Senate. She represents Oregon's 14th Senate district, which includes the cities of Beaverton, Aloha, and portions of Washington and Multnomah counties.
