''Home and Away'' (''H&A'') is an Australian television soap opera. It was created by Alan Bateman and commenced broadcast on the Seven Network on 17 January 1988. Bateman came up with the concept of the show during a trip to Kangaroo Point, New South Wales, where he noticed locals were complaining about the construction of a foster home and against the idea of foster children from the city living in the area. ''Trisha Goddard'', formerly called ''Trisha'', is a British tabloid talk show hosted by Trisha Goddard. It initially aired on ITV in a mid-morning slot from 1998 to 2004 before moving to Channel 5 in January 2005, where it was broadcast until December 2010. It was also shown on ITV's digital channel ITV2 with a spin-off show called ''Trisha: Extra'' and a double bill of the main ''Trisha'' show every afternoon. The series was created by Laurie McCarthy and Gwendolyn M. Parker and premiered on June 8, 2006, on NBC, taking the time slot occupied by '' ER'' during the rest of the year. On August 31, 2006, NBC announced the show's cancellation by stating on its website that the episode that night would be the series finale. NBC also gave local affiliates the option of showing pre-season football instead and showing the final episode at each affiliate's discretion.
