4Minute
4Minute (, often stylized in all caps) was a South Korean girl group formed by Cube Entertainment, consisting of members Jihyun, Gayoon, Jiyoon, Hyuna and Sohyun. The group was known for its edgy dance-pop style and " girl crush" image that attracted a large female fan base. The group debuted in June 2009 with the single, "Hot Issue." They ultimately released one full-length Japanese album, ''Diamond'' (2010), one full-length Korean album, '' 4Minutes Left'' (2011), seven Korean extended plays, and multiple singles. The group received several major awards, including the Rookie Award at the 2009 Golden Disc Awards, the K-pop New Artist Award at the 2010 Billboard Japan Music Awards, and the Bonsang Award at the 2011, 2012, and 2014 Seoul Music Awards. 4Minute disbanded in June 2016 after unsuccessful contract renewal negotiations between Cube Entertainment and the majority of the group members. Heo Ga-yoon
Heo Ga-yoon (; born May 18, 1990), better known by the mononym Gayoon, is a South Korean actress and former singer. She is a former member of South Korean girl group 4Minute and its sub-group 2Yoon. Biography Early life and education Heo was born on May 18, 1990, in Goyang. She received second place at SM's 9th "Best Singer Contest" in 2005. She graduated from Dongduk Girl's High School. In 2008, Heo appeared in Mario's "I'm Yours" music video, with Seulong from 2AM. In 2011, she enrolled into Dongguk University where she majored in film and theater. On September 17, 2014, Heo, along other stars, were appointed as ambassadors of Dongguk University. Jeon Ji-yoon (born October 15, 1990), professionally known as Jiyoon or Jenyer, is a South Korean singer, rapper, and songwriter known for her work as a former member of South Korean girl group 4Minute. She debuted as a solo artist on November 2, 2016, under the stage name Jenyer, with the release of her debut digital single, "I Do". Early life Jeon Ji-yoon was born on October 15, 1990 in Suwon, South Korea. She graduated from Byeongjeom High School and is currently attending Kyung Hee University, majoring in Post Modern Music. Hyuna
Kim Hyun-ah (; born June 6, 1992), known professionally as Hyuna (stylized as HyunA), is a South Korean singer-songwriter, rapper and model. She debuted as a member of the girl group Wonder Girls in February 2007. Upon leaving the ensemble shortly after, Hyuna subsequently left JYP Entertainment and joined the girl group 4Minute. The group debuted in June 2009 under Cube Entertainment. In 2010, Hyuna began a solo career with a style she described as "performance-oriented music". 2Yoon
2Yoon (, commonly stylized in all caps) was the first and only sub-group of South Korean girl group 4Minute, formed by Cube Entertainment in 2013. The sub-group consisted of Gayoon and Jiyoon., translated to English at History Gayoon and Jiyoon were the lead singers of 4Minute. Cube Entertainment CEO Hong Seung Sung wanted to pair them in a sub-group after watching the duo perform live at the 2011 United Cube in London. The duo were known to fans collectively as Ssangyoon () (a portmanteau of the Hangul word for "twins" and the last characters of their given name "yoon"). However, as the pronunciation of "Ssangyoon" involves a tensed consonant, it was deemed to be ill-fitting for the group's cute image. As such, the sub-unit was renamed as 2Yoon. Kwon So-hyun
Kwon So-hyun (; born August 30, 1994), known mononymously as Sohyun, is a South Korean actress and singer. She was known as a former member of South Korean girl group 4Minute, under Cube Entertainment, and also a former member of the South Korean girl group, Orange. Before June 15, 2016 (end of her contract with Cube), Kwon left 4Minute and the record label along with members Nam Ji-hyun, Heo Ga-yoon, and Jeon Ji-yoon. Early life Kwon was born in Incheon, South Korea, on August 30, 1994. She attended Kumho Junior High School and Pungmoon Girls' High School, graduating from the latter in February 2013. Nam Ji-hyun ( on January 9, 1990), known mononymously as Jihyun, and formerly known by her stage name Son Ji-hyun, is a South Korean actress and former singer. She is best known as the former leader and a vocalist of now-disbanded South Korean girl group 4Minute. Early life Nam Ji-hyun was born on January 9, 1990 in Bupyeong District, Incheon, South Korea. Jihyun auditioned for JYP Entertainment but was eliminated. ''4Minutes Left'' is the debut Korean studio album (second overall) by South Korean girl group 4Minute. It was released in Korea on April 5, 2011. It contains songs from the maxi-single ''Heart to Heart'' and songs from the group's first Japanese album ''Diamond''. It also has a Korean rendition of "First", a new edition of the song "Hide & Seek" and 2 new songs: "Mirror Mirror" and "Badly". ''Diamond'' is the debut Japanese studio album by South Korean girl group 4Minute. It was released in Japan on December 15, 2010 in two editions: CD only and limited edition CD+DVD. The limited edition includes a 52-page photo book that highlights some of the group's single releases and Japanese debuts. The album peaked at number 27 on Japan's weekly Oricon Albums Chart and sold over 12,000 copies. Singles A Japanese version of the song "Muzik" was released on May 5, 2010 as the first single for ''Diamond''. 4Minute previously released the song in Korean in 2009.
