46th Government Of Turkey
The 46th government of Turkey (December 21, 1987 – November 9, 1989) was a government in the history of Turkey. It is also known as ''the second Özal government''. Background Motherland Party (ANAP) won the elections held on November 29, 1987. Turgut Özal, the leader of ANAP, who was also the prime minister of the previous government, founded the government. Aftermath On 31 October 1989, Turgut Özal was elected the president of Turkey. According to the constitution, he left the office of prime minister. Mustafa Kalemli
Mustafa Kalemli (born March 26, 1943) is a Turkish physician and politician, who served as government minister and Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly. Early life and career Mustafa Kalemli was born in Tavşanlı, Kütahya Province, Turkey. Mustafa Kalemli went to the primary and secondary school in Tavşanlı, and finished the high school in Eskişehir. After graduating from the Faculty of Medicine at Ankara University in 1967, he was admitted as an assistant in the same university's Institute of Urology. In 1972, Kalemli became a specialist physician in urology. Between 1976 and 1978, he served in various positions at the Ministry of Health. In 1978, he conducted research work in the field of andrology and renal transplant at the Eppendorf Hospital of Hamburg University in then West Germany. Lütfullah Kayalar (born 1952) is a Turkish lawyer from profession and politician, who served twice as government minister. Career Kayalar was born in Yozgat, Turkey. He graduated from the Law School of Ankara University with a Bachelor of Laws degree. He entered politics as a member of the Motherland Party, and was elected into the parliament as Deputy of Yozgat. Lütfullah Kayalar served in the cabinet of Turgut Özal and later of Yıldırım Akbulut as Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Affairs between 1989 and 1991, and in the cabinet of Mesut Yılmaz as Minister of Finance in 1996.
