41 Canadian Brigade Group
41 Canadian Brigade Group (41 CBG; ) is a Canadian Army formation of the 3rd Canadian Division. The formation is composed of Army Reserve units within the province of Alberta and the Northwest Territories. The headquarters of the brigade is in Calgary. The brigade has an establishment of 2,500 all ranks. The role of the Army Reserve is to be "a professional part-time force that provides local engagement and a responsive integrated capability, at home or abroad, in sustainment of the Army mission." Most of the soldiers within the brigade serve part time in units or sub-units stationed in their communities. The 41st Indian Brigade was an infantry brigade of the British Indian Army that saw service with the Indian Army during the First World War. It served in the Mesopotamian Campaign on the Euphrates Front throughout its existence. It was not reformed for the Second World War. History The Headquarters 41st Indian Brigade was formed in February 1916 and arrived in Mesopotamia in the following month where it served as an independent formation. On 15 September 1916, it was redesignated as 41st Brigade & H.Q. The 41st Infantry Brigade Combat Team ("Sunset") is an element in the Oregon Army National Guard. Headquartered at Camp Withycombe, Clackamas, Oregon, it was part of the 7th Infantry Division based at Ft. Carson in Colorado (inactivated in 2006). The brigade traces its lineage back to the 41st Infantry Division. 41st Brigade (41st Bde) was an infantry formation of the British Army during World War I. It was formed in August 1914 as part of the New Army, also known as Kitchener's Army, and was assigned to the 14th (Light) Division, serving on the Western Front. It was sometimes known as the 'Greenjacket Brigade' because it was composed of battalions of the King's Royal Rifle Corps and the Rifle Brigade, whose full dress uniforms were Rifle green.
