3rd Military Region (Vietnam People's Army)
The 3rd Military Region of Vietnam People's Army is directly under the Ministry of Defence of Vietnam, tasked to organise, build, manage and command armed forces defending the Red River Delta. The north-West region of Vietnam borders with the Guangxi, China. In 1979, Chinese army with one infantry division, launched an invasion in this military zone. Hòa Bình Province
Hòa Bình or Hoà Bình (see tone marks) was a former mountainous province of Vietnam, located in the nation's Northwest region. It borders Phú Thọ province and Sơn La province to the northwest, Hanoi to the northeast, Hà Nam province to the east, Ninh Bình province to the southeast and Thanh Hóa province to the south. Thái Bình was a former coastal eastern Provinces of Vietnam, province in the Red River Delta region of northern Vietnam. Its name is chữ Hán (太平) for "great peace." Hưng Yên Province
Hưng Yên (/hɨŋ˧˧:iən˧˧/) is a province in the Red River Delta of Northern Vietnam. History Dynastic period The area of the province of Hưng Yên has been inhabited for millennia. Under the Ngô dynasty, it was called Dang Chau. It was then renamed Thái Bình prefecture under the Early Lê dynasty, Dang Chau and Khoái Châu phủ under the Lý dynasty and Long Hưng garrison and Khoái lo under the Trần Dynasty. Under the Later Lê dynasty, Hưng Yên belonged to Sơn Nam and then divided into Sơn Nam Thượng and Sơn Nam Hạ garrisons. Hải Dương Province
Hải Dương was a former province in the Red River Delta of northern Vietnam. Its name derives from Sino-Vietnamese "ocean sun", though the modern province is in fact landlocked. Located in the Northern Key Economic Region, Hai Duong Province has a dynamic economy with a focus on industrial manufacturing. Name ''Hải Dương'' is Sino-Vietnamese for "ocean sun" ( 海 陽). The name first appeared officially in 1498. In feudal times, Hải Dương indicated a vast area from east of Hanoi to the South China Sea. BTR-152
The BTR-152 is a six-wheeled Soviet armoured personnel carrier (APC) built on the chassis and drive train of a ZIS-151 utility truck. It entered service with a number of Warsaw Pact member states beginning in 1950, and formed the mainstay of Soviet motor rifle battalions until the advent of the amphibious BTR-60 series during the 1960s. BTR stands for ''bronetransportyor'' (). BTR-152s were available in several marks, and were manufactured in large numbers for the Soviet military and export. Late production models utilized automotive components from the more reliable ZIL-157 truck.
