McNaught or MacNaught or Macnaught is a Scottish surname deriving from ''MacNeachdan'' which is a Gaelic patronymic for the Pictish name ''Nechdan'' meaning 'Pure'. It was anglicised as ''Macnaughten'' and variations of the name have led to Macnaught and MacKnight (also ''Macknight'' and ''McKnight''). Erin McNaught
Erin McNaught (born 22 May 1982) is an Australian model, actress, presenter, television personality and beauty pageant titleholder. McNaught grew up in Australia alongside her older brothers and began playing in a band named "Short Straw" in her teenage years. After starting a career in modelling she represented Australia at the Miss Universe 2006 competition. After her participation McNaught went on to secure more modelling contracts and television jobs. Judith McNaught (born May 10, 1944) is a bestselling author of over a dozen historical and contemporary romance novels, with 30 million copies of her works in print. She was also the first female executive producer at a CBS radio station. Early career Born on May 10, 1944, in San Luis Obispo, she majored in Business at Northwestern University. She married a St. Louis dentist and had two children, a daughter, Whitney, and a son, Clayton, before her divorce. McNaught Syndicate
The McNaught Syndicate was an American newspaper syndicate founded in 1922. It was established by Virgil Venice McNitt (who gave it his name) and Charles V. McAdam. Its best known contents were the columns by Will Rogers and O. O. McIntyre, the ''Dear Abby'' letters section and comic strips, including ''Joe Palooka'' and '' Heathcliff''. It folded in September 1989. History Virgil McNitt (1881–1964) first tried his hand at publishing a magazine, the ''McNaught Magazine'', which failed. He then, in 1910, started the Central Press Association syndication service, with offices in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1920, McNitt founded the Central Press Association of New York City.
