The 24th government of Turkey (30 May 1960 – 5 January 1961) was a government in the history of Turkey. It is also called ''the first Gürsel government''. Cemal Gürsel (1960)
Cemal Gürsel (9 June 1894 – 14 September 1966) was a Turkish military officer and politician who was the fourth president of Turkey, serving from 1960 to 1966 after taking power in 1960 Turkish coup d'état, a coup d'état. Early life Gürsel was born in the town of Hınıs in the Erzurum vilayet, Erzurum Vilayet as the son of an Ottoman Army officer, Abidin Bey, and the grandson of Ibrahim (1821–1895) and the great-grandson of Hadji Ahmed (1788–1860). After the elementary school in Ordu Province, Ordu and the military middle school in Erzincan Province, Erzincan, he graduated from the Kuleli military high school in Istanbul. He was a popular figure and was therefore nicknamed "Cemal Ağa" (Cemal the Big Fellow) since his childhood school years and onwards all his life. Gürsel served in the Army for 45 years. Fehmi Yavuz
Fehmi Yavuz (1912 – 11 July 1991) was a Turkish people, Turkish civil servant, academic, writer and government minister. Early life He was born in Isparta in 1912. After his primary and secondary education in Isparta, he completed Pertevniyal High School in Istanbul. He graduated from the Ankara University, Faculty of Political Sciences, Faculty of Political Sciences of Ankara University 1937. In 1942, he returned to his faculty as the assistant of Professor Ernst Reuter, Ernest Reuter. In 1951, he earned the title professor in the same faculty. Between 1953 and 1955, he studied urban development in United Kingdom. In 1958 he was elected as the dean of the faculty. The Constituent Assembly of Turkey (), also called the Chamber of Deputies, existed from 6 January 1961 to 24 October 1961. It was established by the military rule of 1960 Turkish coup d'état. About half of the members were appointed by the military rule and the rest were the elected members. Among the elected members there were Republican People's Party (CHP) and Republican Nation Party members as well as various NGO members. Cahit Talas
Cahit Talas (1917 – 14 October 2006) was a Turkish academic who was the dean of Ankara University's Faculty of Political Science for two terms. He served as the minister of labor between 1960 and 1961. He is known for being the pioneer of social politics in Turkey. Early life and education Talas was born in Trabzon, Ottoman Empire, in 1917. After his secondary education he started his university education at the Faculty of Political Science at Ankara University in 1935 and graduated in 1938. Following his graduation he was sent by the Ministry of Finance to France to pursue his doctorate studies in 1938, but he could not complete his education due to the outbreak of World War II and had to return to Turkey in 1940. Talas restarted his doctorate studies in 1943 and received his Ph.D. from the University of Geneva in 1947. The title of his thesis was ''La Legislation du Travail Industriel en Turquie'' (). Şahap Kocatopçu (1916–2012) was a Turkish engineer, politician and businesspeople. He was the minister of industry for two times in the cabinets established after the military coups. He headed several state and private companies. Early life and education He was born in Istanbul on 17 February 1916. He was educated in Galatasaray High School until 1936. He graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1954 receiving a degree in metallurgical and materials engineering. He also obtained a Ph.D. in the same field. Career Kocatopçu started his career at Sümerbank in 1945. Then he joined the General Directorate of Cement Industry as a planning manager. On 11 May 1954 he was named as the director general of the state-owned Turkey Bottle and Glass Factories and held this post until 22 September 1980.
