21st Century
The 21st (twenty-first) century is the current century in the ''Anno Domini'' era or Common Era, under the Gregorian calendar. It began on 1 January 2001 (2001, MMI) and will end on 31 December 2100 (Roman numerals, MMC). ''Stadium Arcadium'' is the ninth studio album by American rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers. It was a double-album released on May 5, 2006, on Warner Bros. Records. It produced five singles: "Dani California", " Tell Me Baby", "Snow (Hey Oh)", "Desecration Smile" and "Hump de Bump", along with the band's first-ever fan-made music video, for the song "Charlie". The 21st Century Network (21CN) programme is the data and voice network transformation project, under way since 2004, of the UK telecommunications company BT Group plc. It was intended to move BT's telephone network from the AXE/ System X Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) to an Internet Protocol (IP) system. As well as switching over the PSTN, BT planned to deliver many additional services over their new data network, such as on-demand interactive TV services. Maurice Joseph François Engelen (born 7 January 1959), known by his stage name Praga Khan, is a Belgian electronic musician. Khan is considered one of the leading pioneers of the new beat/acid house/techno electronic dance music scene that originated in Belgium. Khan has also contributed to the theatrical scene with his musical collaborations in ''The Next Dimension'' and ''Code Red''. Green Day
Green Day is an American rock band formed in the East Bay of California in 1987 by lead vocalist and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong, together with bassist and backing vocalist Mike Dirnt. For most of the band's career, they have been a power trio with drummer Tré Cool, who replaced John Kiffmeyer in 1990 before the recording of the band's second studio album, '' Kerplunk'' (1991). Touring guitarist Jason White became a full-time member in 2012, but returned to his touring role in 2016. ''21st Century Breakdown'' is the eighth studio album by American rock band Green Day, released on May 15, 2009, through Reprise Records. Green Day commenced work on the record in January 2006 and forty-five songs were written by vocalist/guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong by October 2007, but the band members did not enter studio work until January 2008.Fricke, p. 48 The album is a rock opera much like their previous album '' American Idiot'' (2004). Armstrong has described the album as a "snapshot of the era in which we live as we question and try to make sense of the selfish manipulation going on around us, whether it be the government, religion, media or frankly any form of authority". "21st Century Boy" is a song by British band Sigue Sigue Sputnik released in May 1986 and is the second single from their debut album '' Flaunt It''. It was the band's second biggest hit, peaking at number 20 on the UK Singles Chart. Composition and lyrics As indicated by the title, the lyrics of the song contain references to the then-future 21st century. The title itself is possibly a take on the T. Rex song "20th Century Boy". "21st Century (Digital Boy)" is a song by the punk rock group Bad Religion. It was originally recorded in 1990 on their fifth full-length studio album '' Against the Grain'' and re-recorded on the 1994 album '' Stranger Than Fiction''. The following year it was included on the ''All Ages'' compilation release. Although the '' Against the Grain'' version was not released as a single, the '' Stranger Than Fiction'' version was a popular hit. The hit version was also featured on the 2002 compilation ''Punk Rock Songs'', which was not endorsed by the band. Re-recording In 1994, Bad Religion re-recorded the song for their eighth studio album '' Stranger Than Fiction''. Guitarist Brett Gurewitz claimed that Bad Religion re-recorded it because their then-label Atlantic Records said they did not "hear a single" in that album and thought the song was a hit so they asked the band to redo it. Anno Domini
The terms (AD) and before Christ (BC) are used to label or number years in the Julian and Gregorian calendars.
