2025 US Open (court Tennis)
The 2025 court tennis US Open was the 75th edition of the US Open. The men's event was held at the Westwood Country Club from February 20 to March 2, 2025, and was organized by the United States Court Tennis Association, forming part of the qualifying series for the 2027 Real Tennis World Championship. It was the first time the event will be held in Washington. The women's event was held at the Racquet Club of Philadelphia from February 7 to 9, 2025. It was the second grand slam event of the year. The tournament was won by second seed John Lumley. It was his first US Open title, marking the fourth of his career. He defeated incumbent World Champion Camden Riviere in the final. It was the first time that Riviere has been defeated in any Open competition since 2013, and Lumley's first victory over Riviere in a best of 5 set match. Robert Leo Fahey (born 30 April 1968, in Hobart, Tasmania), nicknamed "Bag", is an Australian real tennis player and the former World Champion of the sport, holding the title from 16 March 1994 to 21 May 2016 and again from 28 April 2018 to September 2022. Career On 27 April 2006, at the Oratory Tennis Club in Woodcote, South Oxfordshire, he matched the great Pierre Etchebaster's feat of seven consecutive defenses of the real tennis singles World Championship. Louis Gordon (born 1965) is an English musician notable for his collaboration with John Foxx. He has worked with Foxx on a number of albums since 1995. His solo work has also been released on the Toffeetones record label. Biography John Foxx had met Louis Gordon after watching one of his concerts. The concert was at Berrington Hall, near Shrewsbury and was in aid of Gordon's birthday (in January 1995). Gordon was said to be "blown away" by their meeting. He was later contacted by Foxx, who asked about making a record together. Their first recording was made in Manchester. Gordon began playing the drums as a child, later progressing to bass guitar and guitar. He now predominantly plays keyboards and guitar doing one-man shows with guest appearances by friends. Tony Hollins (June 25, 1909 – January 1957) was an American blues singer, guitarist and songwriter. Biography Hollins is thought to have been born in Oktibbeha County, Mississippi, and was raised at Lucky's Plantation. In the 1920s, he dated John Lee Hooker's sister Alice. On visits, he impressed Hooker with his skill on the guitar, helped teach him to play, and gave Hooker his first guitar. For the rest of his life, Hooker regarded Hollins as a formative influence on his style of playing and his career as a musician. Among the songs that Hollins reputedly taught Hooker were versions of " Crawlin' King Snake" and " Catfish Blues". Hollins primarily worked as a barber in Clarksdale, Mississippi.
