2025 Taguig Local Elections
Local elections were held in Taguig on May 12, 2025, as part of the 2025 Philippine general election. The electorate will elect a mayor, a vice mayor, twenty-four members of the Taguig City Council, and two district representatives to the House of Representatives of the Philippines. The officials elected in the election will assume their respective offices on June 30, 2025, for a three-year-long term. This will be the first general election in which the Embo barangays are part of the Taguig city electorate. Maria Laarni "Lani" Lopez Cayetano (born Maria Laarni Clariño Lopez; December 11, 1981) is a Filipina politician who is the current Mayor of Taguig from 2010 to 2019 and again since 2022. She previously served as the Representative of the 1st district of Taguig-Pateros from 2007 to 2010 and again, this time of the 2nd district, from 2019 to 2022. Mar-len Abigail "Abby" Sombillo Binay-Campos (born December 12, 1975) is a Filipino lawyer and politician who has been the Mayor of Makati since 2016. She formerly served in the Congress as Representative of Makati's 2nd District from 2007 to 2016, when she was succeeded by her husband, Luis Campos. Lino Edgardo Schramm Cayetano (; born January 4, 1978) is a Filipino politician and television director who served as the Mayor of Taguig from 2019 to 2022. Dante Osorio Tiñga (born May 11, 1939) is a Filipino politician and jurist who has served as the acting chairman of the Development Bank of the Philippines from 2022 to 2024. Taguig–Pateros's 2nd congressional district (also known simply as Taguig's 2nd congressional district and Taguig's lone congressional district) is one of the two congressional districts of the Philippines in the combined independent local government units of Pateros and Taguig. Post Proper Southside, also known as Post Proper South Fort Bonifacio, Barangay 31, or simply Southside, is one of the 38 barangays of Taguig, Philippines. It is one of the ten Embo barangays, and one of the two Inner Fort Bonifacio barangays, the other one being the Post Proper Northside.
