2025 New York City Mayoral Election
The 2025 New York City mayoral election will be held on November 4, 2025, to elect the Mayor of New York City, mayor of New York City. Incumbent Democratic Party (United States), Democratic mayor Eric Adams is running for re-election to a second term in office. He was indicted on federal corruption charges in September 2024, and has faced calls to resign from office. The United States Department of Justice, Department of Justice ordered prosecutors to dismiss the charges without prejudice in February 2025. In September 2021, an average of 47,916 people slept in New York City's homeless shelters each night. This included 18,236 single adults, 14,946 children, and 14,734 adults in families.
