2025 New Year Honours
The 2025 New Year Honours are appointments by King Charles III among the 15 Commonwealth realms to Orders and decorations of the Commonwealth realms, various orders and honours to recognise and reward good works by citizens of those countries. The New Year Honours are awarded as part of the New Year celebrations at the start of January and those for 2025 were announced on 30 December 2024. The recipients of honours are displayed as Style (form of address), styled before appointment to the honour awarded upon the advice of the King's ministers and arranged by country, precedence and grade (''i.e.'' Knight/Dame Grand Cross, Knight/Dame Commander, ''etc.''), and then by divisions (''i.e.'' Civil, Diplomatic, and Military), as appropriate. King Charles III
Charles III (Charles Philip Arthur George; born 14 November 1948) is King of the United Kingdom and the 14 other Commonwealth realms. Charles was born at Buckingham Palace during the reign of his maternal grandfather, King George VI, and became heir apparent when his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, acceded to the throne in 1952. He was created Prince of Wales in 1958 and his investiture was held in 1969. He was educated at Cheam School and Gordonstoun, and later spent six months at the Timbertop campus of Geelong Grammar School in Victoria, Australia. Gerald Davies
Sir Thomas Gerald Reames Davies (born 7 February 1945) is a Welsh former rugby union wing who played international rugby for Wales between 1966 and 1978 and was selected for two British Lions tours. He is one of a small group of Welsh players to have won three Grand Slams. Bashir Al-Hashimi
Sir Bashir Mohammed Ali Al-Hashimi (born 5 January 1961) is a computer engineering researcher, academic and higher education leader. He is Vice President (Research & Innovation) and ARM Professor of Computer Engineering at King's College London in the United Kingdom. Andrew Haines
Sir Andrew Paul Haines (born 26 February 1947) is a British epidemiologist and academic. He was the director of the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine from 2001 to 2010. Early life and education Haines was educated at Latymer Upper School on a state funded scholarship, and at King's College London (MBBS) where he qualified in Medicine in 1969 with honours in pathology, surgery and pharmacology and therapeutics. The Royal Parks
The Royal Parks make up land that was originally used for the recreation, mostly hunting, by the royal family. They are part of the hereditary possessions of The Crown, now managed by The Royal Parks, a charity which manages eight royal parks and certain other areas of parkland in London. Nick Gibb
Sir Nicolas John Gibb (born 3 September 1960) is a British politician who served as Minister of State for Schools from 2010 to 2012; 2014 to 2021 and from 2022 to 2023. He has served at the Department for Education under Conservative Prime Ministers David Cameron, Theresa May, Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak. Fauna & Flora is an international nature conservation charity and non-governmental organization based in the United Kingdom. Mind (charity)
Mind is a mental health charity in England and Wales. It was founded in 1946 as the National Association for Mental Health (NAMH). Mind offers information and advice to people with mental health problems and lobbies government and local authorities on their behalf. It also works to raise public awareness and understanding of issues relating to mental health. Since 1982, it has awarded an annual prize for "Book of the Year" having to do with mental health, in addition to three other prizes. Gabriele Finaldi
Sir Gabriele Maria Finaldi (born 28 November 1965) is a British art historian and curator, with Italian citizenship. Since August 2015, he has been director of the National Gallery in London, England. Early life and education Finaldi was born in Barnet and raised in Catford in south London, the son of a Neapolitan father and a half-Polish-half-English mother.
