2025 Melbourne Formula 2 Round
The 2025 Melbourne FIA Formula 2 round was a motor racing event held between 14 and 16 March 2025 at the Albert Park Circuit. It was the opening round of the 2025 FIA Formula 2 Championship and was held in support of the 2025 Australian Grand Prix. Due to heavy rain, the feature race on 16 March was cancelled with no racing laps completed. Classification Qualifying Notes: * – Gabriele Minì set the fastest time in qualifying, but was found guilty of impeding Jak Crawford. He was handed a three-place grid penalty for both races of the weekend. Victor Martins was credited with pole position. * – Alexander Dunne, Jak Crawford, Kush Maini, Sami Meguetounif and Amaury Cordeel each received a ten-place grid penalty for a breach of the sporting regulations during pre-season testing. * – Max Esterson failed to set a time within the 107%-mark after crashing during qualifying but was given permission from the stewards to start both races from the back of the grid. Albert Park Circuit
The Albert Park Circuit is a motorsport street circuit around Albert Park Lake, three kilometres south of central Melbourne. It is used annually as a circuit for the Formula One Australian Grand Prix, the supporting Supercars Championship Melbourne 400 and other associated support races. The circuit has an FIA Grade 1 license. Although the entire track consists of normally public roads, each sector includes medium to high-speed characteristics more commonly associated with dedicated racetracks facilitated by grass and gravel run-off safety zones that are reconstructed annually. Sami Meguetounif (born 24 May 2004) is a French racing driver who currently competes in the Formula Regional European Championship with MP Motorsport. Career Karting Born in Marseille and raised in Morocco, Meguetounif started karting in his native France in 2013, racing in the Regional PACAC championship, which he would go on to finish second in. He won the same championship in the Minime class two years later, and soon made his debut in various national championships. Meguetounif moved into international competition in 2017, finishing fifth in the Karting Academy Trophy and getting second place in the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals, only losing out to Tijmen van der Helm. Campos Racing
Campos Racing is a Spanish motor racing team, founded by former Formula One driver Adrián Campos. The team has been successful in Formula Three and the GP2 Series. History After retiring from racing, Campos formed his own team at the end of 1997, under the name Campos Motorsport. In 1998 the team began by competing in the new Open Fortuna by Nissan, with Marc Gené and Antonio García as drivers. Arvid Lindblad (born 8 August 2007) is a British racing driver with Indian and Swedish ancestry, who is currently set to drive in the FIA Formula 3 Championship for Prema Racing. Kush Maini (born 22 September 2000) is an Indian racing driver currently competing in the 2023 Formula 2 Championship for Campos Racing.
