2025 Malaysia Masters
The 2025 Malaysia Masters (officially known as the Perodua Malaysia Masters 2025 presented by Daihatsu for sponsorship reasons) was a badminton tournament that took place at the Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 20 to 25 May 2025 and had a total prize of US$475,000. Tournament The 2025 Malaysia Masters was the twelfth tournament of the 2025 BWF World Tour and was part of the Malaysia Masters championships, which have been held since 2009. This tournament was organised by the Badminton Association of Malaysia with sanction from the BWF. Venue This international tournament was held at the Axiata Arena inside the KL Sports City in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Putra Indoor Stadium (Malay: ''Stadium Putra''), currently named as Axiata Arena for sponsorship reasons, is a multi-purpose indoor arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Background The stadium is located in the premise of the Kompleks Sukan Negara, National Sports Complex of Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. BWF World Ranking
The BWF World Ranking is the official ranking of the Badminton World Federation for badminton players who participate in tournaments sanctioned by Badminton World Federation. It is used to determine the qualification for the BWF World Championships, World Championships and Badminton at the Summer Olympics, Summer Olympic Games, as well as BWF World Tour tournaments. Seedings of draws at all BWF-sanctioned tournaments are conducted using the BWF World Ranking. Players under 19 years of age are eligible to rank in the BWF World Junior Ranking, which were introduced in January 2011. Jason Gunawan
Jason Gunawan (; born 18 June 2004) is a badminton player from Hong Kong. Biography Gunawan was born on 18 June 2004 in Hong Kong, to Chinese-Indonesian parents. His father played for the provincial badminton team when he was in Indonesia. He became interested in badminton and started learning the sport at four years old after watching the Lee-Lin rivalry during the 2008 Beijing Olympics. As a child, he and his father would go to the local sports center every Sunday to practice, and he eventually made the Hong Kong junior badminton team. Gunawan attended Diocesan Boys' School, and won the Jing Ying All-School competition twice in a row. He dropped out in Form 4 to train as a full-time athlete at the Hong Kong Sports Institute. Christo Popov
Christo Popov (born 8 March 2002) is a French badminton player who affiliate with Fos club. He won the men's doubles gold at the 2025 European Championships with his brother Toma Junior Popov. He also won a silver in the men's singles and a bronze in the men's doubles at the 2023 European Games. He became the first Frenchman to reach the semi-finals of the All England Open. Srikanth Kidambi
Srikanth Kidambi (born 7 February 1993) is an Indian badminton player. Known for his powerful smashes and quick footwork, he became the first Indian male to reach the World No. 1 ranking in the BWF World Rankings in April 2018. Weng Hongyang ( zh, s=翁泓阳, p=Wēng Hóngyáng; born 18 June 1999) is a Chinese badminton player. He won his first BWF World Tour title at the 2019 Lingshui China Masters. Lu Guangzu (; born on 19 October 1996) is a Chinese badminton player. He was a silver medalist in the 2025 Asian Championships. Kenta Nishimoto
is a Japanese badminton player. He won a silver medal in the men's singles at the 2017 Summer Universiade and a bronze medal at the 2018 Asian Games. is a Japanese badminton player affiliated with NTT East. Born in Aomori, he started playing badminton at the age of 5 with the influence of his father.
