2025 LPL Season
The 2025 LPL season is the ongoing 13th season of the ''League of Legends'' Pro League (LPL), a Chinese professional esports league for the video game ''League of Legends''. It is the first LPL season under the new three-split structure and competitive calendar introduced by the game's developer Riot Games starting with the 2025 competitive season. Unlike past seasons, the 2025 LPL season is merged into three stages. The season began on 12 January. League Of Legends Pro League
The ''League of Legends'' Pro League (LPL) is the top-level professional league for ''League of Legends'' in China. The first season of the LPL was the 2013 Spring season. The top three finishers of the playoff tournament receive automatic bids to the League of Legends World Championship, ''League of Legends'' World Championship. Playoffs are an eight team single elimination with each step a best-of-five series. The total prize pool is ¥2,350,000. In 2014 Riot Games began providing an English language broadcast. The format is modeled after the League of Legends Champions Korea, ''League of Legends'' Champions Korea format in South Korea. In September 2015 it was announced that Riot Games was in negotiations with Tencent to take over operations of the league. Ultra Prime Esports, formed in 2020 by Nenking Group, is a professional esports franchise based in China. Ultra Prime Esports manages Nenking's esports teams, such as Guangzhou Charge. History Nenking established a new esports brand "Ultra Prime" for Nenking's esports business on 28 August 2020. Ultra Prime Esports manages Nenking's esports teams, such as Guangzhou Charge of the Overwatch League. On 17 December 2020, Nenking acquired the LPL team of the Chinese esports franchise "eStar Gaming". On 29 March 2021, Nenking Esports Center had its grand opening. The 2025 ''League of Legends'' World Championship is an upcoming esports tournament for the multiplayer online battle arena video game ''League of Legends'', set to be held in China from 14 October to 9 November — in Beijing, Shanghai, and Chengdu. 2025 Mid-Season Invitational
The 2025 Mid-Season Invitational will be the tenth iteration of the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI), a Riot Games-organised tournament for ''League of Legends'', a multiplayer online battle arena video game. The tournament will be held in Vancouver, Canada, and will be the first edition of the tournament to feature the Fearless Draft format, and the first to be staged under the game's new competitive esports calendar since 2025. Kanavi (gamer)
Seo Jin-hyeok (; born November 2, 2000), better known as Kanavi, is a South Korean professional ''League of Legends'' player for JD Gaming of the League of Legends Pro League (LPL). Throughout his career, he has won four LPL titles and one Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) title. He also represented the South Korean national team at the 2022 Asian Games, earning a gold medal. Kanavi's career began in 2019 when he joined LCK team Griffin as a substitute. He joined LPL team JD Gaming on a loan from Griffin later that year. However, after an investigation by Riot Games and KeSPA that revealed Griffin was in violation of tampering rules, contract length regulations, and undue pressure on Kanavi, he was released from his contract at the end of the year. Kanavi chose to sign with JD Gaming in 2020 and won his first LPL title that year. Royal Never Give Up (RNG) is a Chinese esports organization. It began as a professional ''League of Legends'' team named Royal Club competing in the ''League of Legends'' Pro League (LPL), the game's top level of competition in China. To reflect its titular sponsor, the team was known as Star Horn Royal Club from 2014 until 2015, when the team took on its current name.
