2025 LKL Playoffs
The 2025 LKL Playoffs known as the 2025 Betsafe-LKL Playoffs for sponsorship purposes was LKL playoffs' 30th edition. Top eight finishers in the regular season will compete for the championship spot. Playoffs will begin 24 May 2025. BC Rytas, Rytas was the defending champion but lost final series to BC Žalgiris, Žalgiris. The quarterfinals were played in a best-of-three format with higher seeded team playing the first and third (if necessary) game at home. Semifinals, third place game and final were played in a best-of-five format, with the higher seed team playing games 1, 3 and 5 (if necessary) at home. 2024–25 LKL Season
The 2024–25 Lietuvos krepšinio lyga season, also called Betsafe–LKL for sponsorship reasons, was the 32nd season of the top-tier level professional basketball league of Lithuania, the Lietuvos krepšinio lyga (LKL). Rytas were defending champions, however, they finished as a runners-up, losing finals series to eventual champions Žalgiris, who won their 25th champioship. Teams 10 teams participated in the 2024–25 season. Despite the announcement that no team will be relegated after 2023–24 due to Gargždai bankruptcy, last place finishers Pieno žvaigždės decided to withdraw from the league due to struggles to meet league's budget requirements. Due to decreased number of teams, the league's format was changed, with the format being same as 2020–21 season, where 10 teams faced-off each other 4 times with top 8 teams advancing into Playoffs. Ignas Brazdeikis (born January 8, 1999) is a Lithuanian–Canadian professional basketball player for Žalgiris of the Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL) and the EuroLeague. He played college basketball for the Michigan Wolverines. As a freshman, he was a 2019 Second team All-Big Ten selection, the Big Ten Freshman of the Year and a Big Ten All-Freshman honoree. Marek Blaževič (born 1 September 2001) is a Lithuanian professional basketball player for Tofaş of Basketbol Süper Ligi (BSL). Standing at , he plays the center position. Professional career Blaževič made his professional debut with BC Perlas in the 2017–18 season. On 6 June 2018 he signed with Rytas Vilnius. Laurynas Birutis (born 27 August 1997) is a Lithuanian professional basketball player for Žalgiris Kaunas of Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL) and the EuroLeague. Žalgirio Arena is a multi-purpose indoor arena in the Centras (Kaunas), New Town of Kaunas, Lithuania. The arena is located on an island of the Nemunas River and is the largest indoor arena in Baltic states, the Baltics.
