2025 European Athletics Indoor Championships – Men's 1500 Metres
The men's 1500 metres at the 2025 European Athletics Indoor Championships was held on the short track of Omnisport in Apeldoorn, Netherlands, on 6 and 7 March 2025. This was the 37th time the event was contested at the European Athletics Indoor Championships. Athletes qualified by achieving the entry standard or by their World Athletics Ranking in the event. Omnisport Apeldoorn
The Omnisport Apeldoorn, also known as the Omnisportcentrum or simply called Omnisport, is a velodrome and multisport indoor arena in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. Designed by FaulknerBrowns Architects the facility opened in 2008, it is divided into two halls: a cycling hall containing track cycling, cycling track and sport of athletics, athletics track, and a volleyball hall. The cycling hall has a capacity for 5,000 spectators and the volleyball hall for 2,000. The complex has been operated by Libéma since 2012. Usage and events In addition to its function as sports accommodation, Omnisport is used for business events such as fairs, congresses and meetings, and various public events such as music concerts. European Indoor Championships In Athletics
The European Athletics Indoor Championships is a biennial indoor track and field competition for European athletes that is organised by the European Athletic Association. It was held for the first time in 1970, replacing the European Indoor Games, its predecessor event first held in 1966. The championships was an annual event until 1990, when it was changed to its current biennial format. A gap of three years occurred after the 2002 edition to synchronize the event with the other major championships of international athletics. Paul Anselmini (born 2 August 2003) is a French middle-distance runner. In 2025, he became French U23 record holder and won the French Indoor Athletics Championships over 1500 metres. Career He placed eighth overall in the 800 metres at the 2021 World Athletics U20 Championships in Kenya. He won the 2023 French U23 champion over 800m and was a bronze medalist at the 2023 European Athletics U23 Championships in Espoo, in the men's 800 metres, finishing behind Great Britain’s Ethan Hussey and his compatriot and gold medal winner Yanis Meziane. He is a member of the Entente Franconville Césame Val-d'Oise (EFCVO) athletics club in Val-d'Oise. Robert Farken (born 20 September 1997) is a German middle distance runner. In 2025, he became German national record holder over 1500 metres and the mile run, and is a multiple-time German champion. Career From Leipzig, and a high school graduate at the sports high school there. He had a promising start to his career before an achilles tendon injury slowed his progress. In 2016 Farken was runner-up over 800m at the German youth indoor championships. In the same year he was the fastest U20 runner in Europe over 800m. Farken ran this best time at the evening sports festival in Pfungstadt, but this came after the selection period for participation in the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz had finished so he was not able to compete. Pol Moya Betriu (born 9 December 1996) is an Andorran middle-distance runner competing primarily in the 800 metres. He represented his country at the 2016 World Indoor Championships without qualifying for the final. He is the national record holder on several distances.
