2025 Baseball Hall Of Fame Balloting
Elections to the Baseball Hall of Fame for 2025 were conducted according to the rules most recently amended in 2022. As in the past, the Baseball Writers' Association of America (BBWAA) voted by mail to select from a ballot of recently retired players, and the results were announced on January 21. Three candidates were inducted by the BBWAA: Ichiro Suzuki, CC Sabathia, and Billy Wagner. Suzuki and Sabathia were inducted in their first year of eligibility; Wagner was in his tenth and final year of eligibility. A meeting of the Classic Baseball Era committee—one of a group of three rotating bodies generally referred to as the Veterans Committee and whose structure was amended in April 2022—was held in December 2024 to consider players from the era before 1980 who no longer appear on the BBWAA ballot. Ichiro Suzuki
, also known mononymously as , is a Japanese former professional baseball outfielder who played for 28 seasons. He played the first nine years of his career with the Orix BlueWave of Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB), and the next 12 years with the Seattle Mariners of Major League Baseball (MLB). Suzuki then played two and a half seasons with the New York Yankees and three with the Miami Marlins before returning to the Mariners for his final two seasons. David Jose Hernandez (born May 13, 1985) is an American former professional baseball relief pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Baltimore Orioles, Philadelphia Phillies, Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Angels, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Cincinnati Reds. David Richard Freese (born April 28, 1983) is an American former professional baseball third baseman.
