The 2025 Arizona Diamondbacks season is the franchise's 28th season in Major League Baseball and their 28th season at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona, as members of the National League West. They are managed by Torey Lovullo in his ninth season with the franchise. Offseason The Diamondbacks finished the 2024 season with a record of 89–73, an improvement on their 84–78 from 2023. However, they missed the playoffs due to losing the tiebreaker against the Atlanta Braves and New York Mets. National League West
The National League West is one of Major League Baseball's six divisions. This division was formed for the 1969 season when the National League expanded to 12 teams by adding the San Diego Padres and the Montreal Expos. For purpose of keeping a regular-season of 162 games, half of the teams were put into the new East Division and half into the new West Division. Within each division, the teams played 18 games each against their five division mates (90 games), and also 12 games against the teams in the opposite division (72 games), totaling 162 games. Geography Despite the geography, the owners of the Chicago Cubs insisted that their team be placed into the East Division along with the teams in New York City, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh. Kevin Newman (baseball)
Kevin Bradley Newman (born August 4, 1993) is an American professional baseball shortstop for the Cincinnati Reds of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has previously played in MLB for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Newman played college baseball for the Arizona Wildcats of the University of Arizona, before the Pirates selected him in the first round of the 2015 MLB draft. He made his MLB debut in 2018. José Gregorio Castillo Tovar (born January 10, 1996) is a Venezuelan professional baseball pitcher in the Miami Marlins organization. He has previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the San Diego Padres. Career Tampa Bay Rays Castillo signed with the Tampa Bay Rays as a non-drafted free agent on July 7, 2012. He spent under two seasons playing for Tampa Bay's minor league affiliates. Grae Kessinger
Graeber Crawley Kessinger (born August 25, 1997) is an American professional baseball shortstop in the Houston Astros organization. Amateur career Kessinger attended Oxford High School in Oxford, Mississippi. He was drafted out of high school in the 2016 MLB draft, going in the 26th Round to the San Diego Padres, however he put his professional career on hold to attend the University of Mississippi to play college baseball for the Ole Miss Rebels. Slade Cecconi ( ; born June 24, 1999) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Arizona Diamondbacks of Major League Baseball (MLB). Amateur career Cecconi attended Trinity Preparatory School in Winter Park, Florida, where he played baseball.
