2024–25 Women's England Hockey League Season
The 2024–25 Women's England Hockey League season is the 2024–25 season of England's field hockey league structure and England Hockey Women's Championship Cup for women. The season started on 21 September 2024. Surbiton were the defending league champions and Beeston would defend the cup. Reading won the league title. Women's England Hockey League
The Women's England Hockey League is a field hockey league organised by England Hockey that features women's teams from England. From 2011–2020 it was sponsored by Investec and was referred to as the Investec Women's Hockey League. Format Regular season There are 62 teams in the league, the top tier consists of a Premier Division of 12 teams. Below this is tier two, which consists of two ten team Division One regional teams (North and South). The third tier consists of three regional conferences North, West, and East, all consisting of ten teams. The teams play each other home and away during an 18 week season from September to April. The league has a winter break between December and February. At the end of the season there are a series of play-offs that decide which teams are promoted and relegated and which team finish as champions. Loughborough Students' Hockey Club
Loughborough Students' Hockey Club is the field hockey club of Loughborough University. Recent history The men's 1st XI compete in the Men's England Hockey League and were winners of the BUCS championships for eight of the past thirteen years. They have also won the National Indoor Championships four times since 2003, as well as gold (2004) and bronze (2005) at the European Indoor Challenge, and were quarter-finalists in the Euro Hockey League in 2008. The other men's teams compete in the Midlands League. Barnes Hockey Club
Barnes Hockey Club is a field hockey club based at Duke's Meadows, Chiswick, West London and was formed in 1889. The women's first XI play in the Women's England Hockey League (the second highest league in England). The men's first XI play in the London Premier Division. Teams The club has both men's and women's sections, with six teams for men and seven for women in addition to having a junior section and mixed team. History Barnes Hockey Club was founded in 1889 but was forced to close during World War I. In 1919, the club was reformed as a part of Barnes Sports Club. In 2005, Barnes Hockey Club merged with the women's section of Hounslow Hockey Club. Wimbledon Hockey Club is a professional field hockey club based in Wimbledon, London, England. It was established in 1883 and fields nine men's sides, seven ladies' sides as well as a comprehensive junior section. The men's 1st XI play in the Men's England Hockey League and the ladies 1st XI play in the Women's England Hockey League. The club's home ground is a water based AstroTurf located at Raynes Park High School, which was built in conjunction with the school in 2019.
