The 2024–25 CBA season was the 30th season of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). The season began on 12 October 2024 and ended on 20 May 2025. The CBA finals between the Zhejiang Lions and the Beijing Ducks started on 7 May, and ended on 20 May with the Lions winning their first league championship. Chinese Basketball Association
The Chinese Basketball Association (), often abbreviated as the CBA, is the first-tier men's professional basketball league in China. The league is commonly known by fans as the CBA, and this acronym is even used in Chinese on a regular basis. The CBA should not be confused with the National Basketball League (China), National Basketball League (NBL), which is a professional minor league. There is also a Women's Chinese Basketball Association (WCBA). A few Chinese players who competed in the CBA in the early stages of their careers—including Wang Zhizhi, Mengke Bateer, Yao Ming, Yi Jianlian, Sun Yue (basketball), Sun Yue, and Zhou Qi—have also played in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Shanghai Sharks
The Shanghai Sharks ( zh, s=上海久事大鲨鱼, t=上海久事大鯊魚, p=Shànghǎi Jǐushì Dàshāyú) are a Chinese Basketball Association team based in Shanghai. The Sharks, who share their colors with the New York Knicks, are best known outside China for having developed Yao Ming before he entered the National Basketball Association. Yao was the driving force behind their three consecutive appearances in the finals (1999–2000, 2000–01, and 2001–02), facing the Bayi Rockets each time. The Sharks were runners-up the first two years, but won for the first time on their third try, breaking the Rockets' streak of six CBA championships in a row. Ashton Hagans
Ashton Dewayne Hagans (born July 8, 1999) is an American professional basketball player for the Xinjiang Flying Tigers of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). He played college basketball for the Kentucky Wildcats. High school career Hagans attended Newton High School in Covington, Georgia where he averaged 20.2 points, 10.7 assists, 7.6 rebounds and 3.6 steals per game as a junior. He earned Mr. Basketball in Georgia as well as the Gatorade Georgia Player of the Year honors. Recruiting Hagans originally committed to Georgia on December 27, 2017. Abdusalam Abdurixit
Abdusalam Abdurixit (; ; born May 20, 1996) is a Chinese professional basketball player for the Xinjiang Flying Tigers of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). "Abudushalamu Abudurexiti" is the Chinese Pinyin rendering of his name. His given name has been spelled as "Abdusalam" on the back of his Chinese national team jersey and his patronymic has been spelled as "Abdurixit" in English language materials distributed to the foreign media by China's national team. Playoffs
The playoffs, play-offs, postseason or finals of a sports league are a competition played after the regular season by the top competitors to determine the league champion or a similar accolade. The Zhejiang Golden Bulls are a Chinese professional basketball team based in Yiwu, Zhejiang, China. It competes in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA), in the Southern Division. Its corporate sponsor is Zhejiang Chouzhou Commercial Bank. The team continued to be informally referred to as the Horses for quite some time, even after changing its nickname to Cyclones in 2001, largely because of the corporate sponsor during that era, Wanma (万马), whose name literally translates into English as ''ten thousand horses''. Xinjiang Flying Tigers
The Xinjiang Flying Tigers () is a professional basketball team based in Ürümqi, Xinjiang, China. The team plays its home games at the Urumqi Olympic Sports Center, which has a capacity for 12,000 spectators.
