2024–25 CCHL Season
The 2024–25 CCHL season is the 64th season of the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL). The regular season started on 19 September 2024, when the Cornwall Colts and the Hawkesbury Hawks played their first game in Cornwall, Ontario at the Cornwall Civic Complex. The Bogart Cup playoffs began in March 2025, ending with the Bogart Cup Finals in May. In November 2024, the CCHL and Ontario Junior Hockey League staged a two-day, four-team tournament, marketed as the "Battle of Ontario". Each league was represented by an all-star team and a prospect team. The tournament took place at the Smiths Falls Memorial Centre in Smiths Falls. League chair, Steve Barban, died suddenly in October. Barban was also the owner and president of the Navan Grads and served on the Canadian Junior Hockey League Board of Governors. Central Canada Hockey League
The Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL; French: ''Ligue de hockey du Canada centrale'', LHCC) is a Junior A ice hockey league in North America composed of 12 teams – all around the National Capital Region. The CCHL is one of the nine Junior A leagues across Canada and is considered as the most successful and highest level of Junior A hockey compared to all the other eight leagues across the country. The Bogart Cup, the oldest junior ice hockey sports trophy in Canada, is awarded annually to the league playoff champion at the end of each season. Overtime (ice Hockey)
Overtime is a method of determining a winner in an ice hockey game when the score is tied after regulation. The main methods of determining a winner in a tied game are the overtime period (commonly referred to as overtime), the Penalty shootout, shootout, or a combination of both. Greater Sudbury Cubs
The Greater Sudbury Cubs are a Junior "A" ice hockey team from Sudbury, Ontario. They are a part of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL). History The Sudbury Northern Wolves came into the league in 2000 and were present up until they announced an affiliation agreement with the Ontario Hockey League's Sudbury Wolves midway through the 2005–06 season. The Sudbury Northern Wolves were then re-branded as the Sudbury Jr. Wolves. The team went on to break league records that season. In their first season, the Jr. Wolves won the NOJHL championship over their rivals North Bay Skyhawks. Northern Manitoba Blizzard
The Northern Manitoba Blizzard are a Junior "A" ice hockey team from The Pas, Manitoba, Canada. They are members of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League, a part of the Canadian Junior Hockey League and Hockey Canada. History The team was founded by the Opaskwayak Cree Nation as the OCN Blizzard in 1996. It was a year in the making with the Cree Nation's goal to enter the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL). Their hockey development and recreation department spent many months prior getting the community members on board through community meetings and house to house visits. Boh Kubrakovich, Jim Smith and Nathan McGillivary spent time working with the SJHL prior to entering their current league, the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL). Alberta Junior Hockey League
The Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) is an Alberta-based Junior A ice hockey league that belongs to the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL). It was formed as a five-team league in 1964. The 2023–24 season began with 16 teams, however 5 teams did not finish the season after it was announced that they planned to join the BCHL in the 2024–25 season. The regular season league champions receive the Dave Duchak Trophy. The playoff champions receive the Inter Pipeline Cup (previously known as the Carling O'Keefe trophy and Gas Drive Cup). Centennial Cup
The Centennial Cup is an annual ice hockey tournament organized by Hockey Canada and the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL), which determines the national champion of Junior ice hockey#Junior A, junior A ice hockey. It consists of a ten-team Round-robin tournament, round robin featuring the winners of all nine CJHL member leagues as well as a pre-selected host city. The championship has also been known as the National Junior A Championship in 2019, it was formerly known as the Royal Bank of Canada, Royal Bank Cup from 1996 to 2018 and the Manitoba Centennial Cup from 1971 to 1995. Trenton Golden Hawks
The Trenton Golden Hawks are a Canadian Junior ice hockey team from Trenton, Ontario. They are members of the Ontario Junior Hockey League, a part of the Canadian Junior Hockey League and a member of the Ontario Hockey Association and Hockey Canada. The team relocated to Trenton in 2009, but were previously known as the Port Hope Predators of Port Hope, Ontario. The Melfort Mustangs are a junior "A" ice hockey team based in Melfort, Saskatchewan, Canada. They are members of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL). Max Bell Centre (commonly Max Bell Arena) is an ice hockey arena in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, in the community of Albert Park/Radisson Heights.
