Referendum
A referendum (plural: referendums or less commonly referenda) is a direct vote by the electorate on a proposal, law, or political issue. This is in contrast to an issue being voted on by a representative. This may result in the adoption of a new policy or specific law, or the referendum may be only advisory. In some countries, it is synonymous with or commonly known by other names including plebiscite, votation, popular consultation, ballot question, ballot measure, or proposition. Some definitions of 'plebiscite' suggest it is a type of vote to change the constitution or government of a country. The Asahi Shimbun

2024 Punjab Provincial Election
Provincial elections will be held in the Pakistani province of Punjab on 8 February 2024 to elect a new provincial legislature. On 5 August 2023, the results of the 2023 digital census were approved by the Council of Common Interests headed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Therefore, elections have been delayed for several months, as new delimitations will be published on 14 December 2023, as announced by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). On 2 November 2023, the ECP announced, in agreement with the President of Pakistan, Arif Alvi, that the elections will be held on 8 February 2024. This election will be held concurrently with nationwide general elections and other provincial elections. 2024 Borden-Kinkora Provincial By-election
The 2024 Borden-Kinkora (District 19) provincial by-election was originally scheduled for February 5, 2024. However, because of impending weather conditions, Elections PEI announced the election would be postponed until Tuesday, February 6, 2024, with the same voting locations in place. It was then postponed again to February 7. It was triggered by the resignation of Progressive Conservative Jamie Fox from the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island. Prince Edward Island
