Ice Hockey
Ice hockey (or simply hockey in North America) is a team sport played on ice skates, usually on an Ice rink, ice skating rink with Ice hockey rink, lines and markings specific to the sport. Dumfries
Dumfries ( ; ; from ) is a market town and former royal burgh in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, near the mouth of the River Nith on the Solway Firth, from the Anglo-Scottish border. Bishkek
Bishkek, formerly known as Pishpek (until 1926), and then Frunze (1926–1991), is the Capital city, capital and largest city of Kyrgyzstan. Bishkek is also the administrative centre of the Chüy Region. Bishkek is situated near the Kazakhstan–Kyrgyzstan border, border with Kazakhstan and has a population of 1,074,075, as of 2021. The Khanate of Kokand established the fortress of Pishpek in 1825 to control local caravan routes and to collect tribute from Kyrgyz people, Kyrgyz tribes. 2024 IIHF World Championship Division III
The 2024 IIHF World Championship Division III consisted of two international ice hockey tournaments ran by the International Ice Hockey Federation. The Group A tournament was held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, from 10 to 16 March 2024 and the Group B tournament in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, from 23 to 29 February 2024. Thailand secured the top spot and promotion in Group A, while Bosnia and Herzegovina won the Group B tournament and got promoted. Mexico got relegated from Group A and Iran finished last in Group B and was relegated to Division IV. 2024 IIHF World Championship
The 2024 IIHF World Championship was hosted by Czechia from 10 to 26 May 2024. It was held in Prague and Ostrava, and organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation. It was the most attended Hockey Championship in history with a total attendance of 797,727 spectators. Hosts Czechia won the title for the seventh time, beating Switzerland 2–0 in the final. Czechia ended their 14-year gold drought after winning it for the first time since 2010. It was the third title won on homesoil in the 21st century, after Sweden men's national ice hockey team, Sweden in 2013 and Finland men's national ice hockey team, Finland in 2022. Sweden won the bronze medal, defeating Canada men's national ice hockey team, Canada 4–2 in the third place match. Heerenveen
Heerenveen (, ) is a town and Municipalities of the Netherlands, municipality in the Provinces of the Netherlands, province of Friesland (Fryslân), in the Northern Netherlands.
