2024 Yas Island Formula 2 Round
The 2024 Yas Island Formula 2 round was a motor racing event that held between 6 and 8 December 2024 at the Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. It was the final round of the 2024 Formula 2 Championship and was held in support of the 2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Gabriel Bortoleto won the drivers' title after finishing second in the Feature Race behind eventual race winner Joshua Dürksen. His nearest rival Isack Hadjar suffered a problem at the start already, which caused him to drop down to the back of the field with no chance of making a comeback. Bortoleto became the fourth rookie in the modern Formula 2 era to win the championship and the fourth driver after Charles Leclerc, George Russell (racing driver), George Russell and Oscar Piastri to win both Formula 2 and Formula 3 championships in consecutive seasons as a rookie. Yas Marina Circuit
The Yas Marina Circuit (Arabic: حلبة مرسى ياس) is a 5.281 km (3.281 mi) motorsport circuit situated on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The circuit was designed by Hermann Tilke. It has hosted the season-ending Formula One Abu Dhabi Grand Prix since 2009. Yas Marina was the second of four Formula One tracks in the Middle East, with the first being in Bahrain International Circuit, Bahrain and subsequent tracks in Losail International Circuit, Qatar and Jeddah Corniche Circuit, Saudi Arabia. A two-day GP2 Asia Series test was held to officially open the circuit, which was held a week before the 2009 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Paul Aron (; born 4 February 2004) is an Estonian racing driver who serves as a reserve driver in Formula One for Alpine F1 Team, Alpine. The 2024 FIA Formula 3 Championship was a motor racing championship for Formula Three, Formula 3 cars sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA).
