2024 Swiss Darts Trophy
The 2024 Swiss Darts Trophy was the twelfth of thirteen PDC European Tour events on the 2024 PDC Pro Tour. The tournament took place at the St. Jakobshalle, Basel, Switzerland from 27 to 29 September 2024. It featured a field of 48 players and £175,000 in prize money, with £30,000 going to the winner. This was the first edition of the event, marking the first European Tour event in Switzerland. Martin Schindler won the title, his second European Tour trophy, after defeating Ryan Searle 8–7 in the final. PDC Order Of Merit
The PDC Order of Merit is a world ranking system used by one of the darts organisations, the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). Following the 2007 PDC World Darts Championship it superseded a world ranking system based on points being awarded for performances in ranking tournaments. Methodology The Professional Darts Corporation adopted an Order of Merit system in 2007, which is based on prize money won over two years for the main Order of Merit and separate one-year rankings for other PDC Pro Tour events. Daryl Gurney (born 22 March 1986) is a Northern Irish professional darts player who competes in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events, where he is currently ranked world number twenty-five; he reached a peak ranking of world number three in 2019. Jim Williams (born 27 July 1984) is a Welsh professional darts player who competes in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He won his first ranking PDC title at 2022 Players Championship 6. Williams previously competed in British Darts Organisation (BDO) tournaments. He won the 2019 BDO World Trophy and finished as the runner-up at the 2020 BDO World Championship. Ian White (born 17 August 1970), nicknamed "Diamond", is an English professional darts player who competes in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. White has won thirteen PDC ranking events, including three titles on the PDC European Tour. He reached his first major semi-final at the 2019 Players Championship Finals.
