2024 Rajkot Gaming Zone Fire
On 25 May 2024, a fire broke out at a gaming zone in Rajkot, Gujarat, India, killing 33 people. Background The amusement park was built in 2024 in temporary structures that had tin roofs and two floors. There were insufficient fire extinguishers and emergency exits in the buildings according to reports. The building also did not possess the No Objection Certificate, required certification from the fire department. Incident On the evening of 25 May, a fire started on the ground floor of the two-story building. The fire was reportedly caused when some welding work was being carried out and quickly spread into surrounding areas due to the already high temperature in the areas. Srirangam Marriage Hall Fire
The 2004 Srirangam marriage hall fire was a fire that happened on 23 January 2004 during a Hindu marriage function in Padmapriya Marriage Hall in Srirangam, a town in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. A day after the accident, there were 42 victims, but a total of 64 people, including the groom, were killed overall and 33 others were injured in the fire. A fire began at a budget hotel in Central Delhi, the Hotel Arpit Palace, in the Karol Bagh area of the city, at around 4.30am on 12 February 2019, killing at least 17 people. 2019 Surat Fire
On 24 May 2019, a fire occurred at a commercial complex in Sarthana Jakatnaka area of Surat in the Gujarat state of India. 22 students died and 19 others were injured in an academic coaching centre located on the building's terrace. 2020 Vijayawada Fire
On 9 August 2020 at around 5 am IST, a major fire broke out at a COVID-19 facility located at the Hotel Swarna Palace in the city of Vijayawada, in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
