2024 Omloop Het Nieuwsblad (women's Race)
The 2024 Omloop Het Nieuwsblad was a road cycling one-day race that took place on 24 February in Belgium, starting in Gent and finishing in Ninove. It was the 19th edition of the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad for Women and the fourth event of the 2024 UCI Women's World Tour. The race was won by Dutch rider Marianne Vos of Visma–Lease a Bike in a sprint finish. Second-placed finisher Lotte Kopecky of Team SD Worx–Protime took the lead in the UCI Women's World Tour standings. 2024 UCI Women's World Tour
The 2024 UCI Women's World Tour was a competition that included twenty-seven road bicycle racing, road cycling events throughout the 2024 in women's road cycling, 2024 women's cycling season. It was be the ninth edition of the UCI Women's World Tour, the ranking system launched by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) in 2016. The competition began with the 2024 Women's Tour Down Under, Women's Tour Down Under from 12 to 14 January, and finished with the Tour of Guangxi on 20 October. Belgian rider Lotte Kopecky () won the individual classification with 4596 points, after a close battle with her teammate Demi Vollering throughout the season. Team SD Worx - Protime () is a professional cycling team based in the Netherlands, which competes in elite road bicycle racing events such as the UCI Women's World Tour. They topped the UCI Women's World Tour#Team ranking, UCI Women's World Tour team ranking in 2016–2019 and 2021–2024. Elisa Balsamo (born 27 February 1998) is an Italian road and track cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's World Team , and represents Italy at international competitions. After competing at the 2015 UCI Road World Championships in the women's junior road race she became junior world champion at the 2016 UCI Road World Championships in the junior's road race.
