2024 New York City FC Season
The 2024 New York City FC season will be the club's tenth season in Major League Soccer, the top division of soccer in the United States. The club will split its home games between Yankee Stadium and Citi Field, and will play against Charlotte FC on February 24, 2024. New York City Football Club is an American professional soccer club based in New York City that competes in Major League Soccer (MLS), the highest level of American soccer, as a member of the league's Eastern Conference. The club is co-owned by City Football Group, which also owns the English soccer club Manchester City, and Yankee Global Enterprises, owners of the New York Yankees. 2024 MLS SuperDraft
The 2024 MLS SuperDraft was the 25th edition of the MLS SuperDraft, a sports draft to select amateur, usually collegiate, soccer players that are not affiliate with an MLS club, or college soccer players that had their Homegrown player rights relinquished by their parent MLS club. The draft will be held on December 19, 2023, marking the second year in a row that the draft will be held in December. Despite the draft being held in 2023, the draft retained the 2024 branding. Ahead of the 2024 draft MLS has expanded the player eligibility criteria for the SuperDraft. For the first time in league history, collegiate sophomores and juniors, alongside seniors and above, and Generation adidas signees in the selection pool will be eligible for the draft, similar to eligibility in the Major League Baseball draft. Malachi Jones (born 23 September 2003) is a Sierra Leonean professional footballer who plays for Major League Soccer club New York City FC. Early life Jones was born in Freetown, Sierra Leone. In 2013, he moved to the United States from Sierra Leone, along with his seven siblings, after they were all adopted by an American family (as the siblings were orphans) from Thompson's Station, Tennessee.
