2024 Multishow Brazilian Music Award
The 2024 Multishow Brazilian Music Awards () (or simply 2024 Multishow Awards) (Portuguese: ''Prêmio Multishow 2024'') were held on 3 December 2024, at the Riocentro in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The ceremony was broadcast on Multishow and TV Globo and streamed on Globoplay. Tatá Werneck, Tadeu Schmidt and Kenya Sade hosted the show. The nominations were announced on 24 October 2024; Liniker was the most nominated and awarded artist of the night, winning four out of her eleven nominations. Anitta was honored with the inaugural Vanguard Trophy. Background On 28 June 2024, Globo announced that the 31st edition of the Multishow Awards would take place on 3 December 2024, at Riocentro, in Rio de Janeiro. Directed by Adriano Ricco and produced by Valesca Campos and Simone Lamosa, the ceremony was broadcast live on Multishow and on TV Globo for the second time. Riocentro
Riocentro is an exhibition and convention center located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Built in 1977, it is the largest exhibition center in Latin America. Notable events 1981 May Day attack On April 30, 1981, during a May Day music concert, Riocentro was the target of a terrorist attack by hardliner members of the Brazilian military dictatorship (1964–1985). Sergeant Guilherme Pereira do Rosário and then-Captain Wilson Dias Machado, nowadays a Colonel, were responsible for detonating two bombs at the venue. Around 9 p.m., however, one of the bombs exploded in the lap of Sergeant Rosário, killing him and seriously wounding Machado. A second bomb exploded a few miles away at a powerhouse responsible for providing electrical energy to Riocentro; it was thrown over the fence and exploded on the ground, and the electric power supply was never interrupted that evening. Raça Negra
Raça Negra (); Portuguese for "Black Race", is a Brazilian ''pagode'' group from São Caetano do Sul, São Paulo. The ensemble formed in 1983, but did not release their first album until 1991, after a demo tape got them signed to RGE. The album spawned numerous hits in Brazil, and over the next decade the group went on to sell millions of albums. They have made many appearances on Brazilian television. Among their hits are "Caroline", "Quero Ver Você Chorar," "Somente Você," "Chega", "Cigana," "Quando Te Encontrei," "Cheia de Manias," "Doce Paixão," and "Me Leva Junto com Você". The group's music is perhaps best known to the English-speaking world as a result of a slipup at a Brazilian CD pressing plant in 1999. Pagode () is a Brazilian style of music that originated in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, as a subgenre of Samba. Pagode originally meant a celebration with food, music, dance, and party. Jheison Failde de Souza (born 20 October 1988), better known by his artistic name Ferrugem, is a Brazilian singer and composer. Sorriso Maroto is a Brazilian pagode band originating from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
