2024 Jaffa Shooting
On 1 October 2024, two Hamas gunmen carried out an attack in Jaffa, Tel Aviv, Israel. Seven civilians were killed, and seventeen others were injured. The attack ended when the gunmen were shot dead by an armed civilian and a security guard. An armed conflict between Israel and Hamas-led Palestinian militant groups has been taking place chiefly in and around the Gaza Strip since 7 October 2023. Yefet Street
Yefet Street is one of the main streets of Jaffa and historical road from Old Jaffa to the south. It was named after Noah's son Japhet, founder of the city according to one legend. It links the Clock Square to Bat Yam, where it continues as Balfour Street. Yefet Street forms the boundary between the historic neighbourhoods of Old Jaffa, Ajami and Giv'at Aliyah (Jabaliya) to the west, and the newer neighbourhoods of Tzahalon, Shikunei Hisachon, Neve Golan and Yafo Gimel to the east of the street. Dankal ( he, דנקל, commonly known as the Tel Aviv Light Rail) is a planned mass transit system for the Tel Aviv metropolitan area in central Israel.
