The 2024 Iowa House of Representatives election was held in the U.S. state of Iowa on November 5, 2024, to elect members to the Iowa House of Representatives, House of Representatives of the 91st Iowa General Assembly. Elections were held concurrently with the 2024 United States elections. Primaries were held on June 4, 2024. Partisan background In the 2020 Presidential Election, Donald Trump won 64 House districts, while Joe Biden won in 36. Going into the 2024 Iowa House election, Republicans hold three districts where Biden won in 2020: District 28 (Biden +1%), District 43 (Biden +6%), and District 81 (Biden +9%). The Iowa House of Representatives is the lower house of the Iowa General Assembly, the upper house being the Iowa Senate. There are 100 seats in the Iowa House of Representatives, representing 100 single-member districts across the state, formed by dividing the 50 Senate districts in half. In July 1849, Barlow Granger began the paper in an abandoned log cabin by the junction of the Des Moines and Raccoon River. ''The Gazette'' is a daily print newspaper published in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The newspaper is distributed throughout northeastern and east-central Iowa, including the Cedar Rapids and Iowa City metropolitan areas. It was formerly called ''The Cedar Rapids Gazette''. As of September 2019, ''The Gazette'' has a circulation of 32,616 for the daily edition and 37,860 for the Sunday edition. History The ''Evening Gazette'' was first published on January 10, 1883. The paper was co-founded by Lucian H. Post and Elbridge T. Otis. In March 1884, the paper was sold to Clarence Miller and Fred Faulkes. Their descendants would run the paper for the next century. KAAL (channel 6) is a television station licensed to Austin, Minnesota, United States, serving as the ABC affiliate for Southeast Minnesota and Northern Iowa. The station is owned by Hubbard Broadcasting and maintains studios in the TJ Maxx–anchored shopping center on Salem Road in Rochester, Minnesota. Its primary transmitter is located in Grand Meadow Township, with a digital replacement translator in Garner, Iowa, near Mason City. Channel 6 went on the air as KMMT on August 17, 1953.
