2024 Hungarian Darts Trophy
The 2024 Hungarian Darts Trophy was the eleventh of thirteen PDC European Tour events on the 2024 PDC Pro Tour. The tournament took place at the MVM Dome, Budapest, Hungary from 20 to 22 September 2024. It featured a field of 48 players and £175,000 in prize money, with £30,000 going to the winner. Two nine-darters were hit on the same day for the first time in European Tour history, by Cor Dekker and Michael van Gerwen. The event then became the first on the European Tour to feature three nine-darters, Martin Schindler hitting one in his third-round defeat. Dave Chisnall was the defending champion after defeating Luke Humphries 8–7 in the 2023 final. Chisnall lost to Daryl Gurney 6–5 in the third round. Van Gerwen won the title, defeating Gian van Veen 8–7 in the final. van Veen missed a match dart at the bullseye to win the title while leading 7–6. The MVM Dome, sometimes known as the Budapest Handball Sports Hall (Hungarian: ''Budapesti Kézilabda Sportcsarnok'') and formally known as ''Budapest Multifunctional Arena'', named after MVM Group, is Europe's largest handball arena located in Budapest, the capital city of Hungary. Daryl Gurney
Daryl Gurney (born 22 March 1986) is a Northern Irish professional darts player who competes in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events, where he is currently ranked world number twenty-five; he reached a peak ranking of world number three in 2019. Nicknamed "Superchin", he has won two PDC major singles titles: the 2017 World Grand Prix and the 2018 Players Championship Finals. Gurney also won the PDC World Cup of Darts in 2025, representing Northern Ireland alongside Josh Rock. He has won a total of six PDC titles in his professional career. 2024 PDC European Tour
4 (four) is a number, numeral and digit. It is the natural number following 3 and preceding 5. It is a square number, the smallest semiprime and composite number, and is considered unlucky in many East Asian cultures. Evolution of the Hindu-Arabic digit Brahmic numerals represented 1, 2, and 3 with as many lines. 4 was simplified by joining its four lines into a cross that looks like the modern plus sign. Jim Williams (born 27 July 1984) is a Welsh professional darts player who competes in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He won his first ranking PDC title at 2022 Players Championship 6. Williams previously competed in British Darts Organisation (BDO) tournaments. He won the 2019 BDO World Trophy and finished as the runner-up at the 2020 BDO World Championship. Niels Zonneveld
Niels Zonneveld (born 22 July 1998) is a Dutch professional darts player who competes in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. Nicknamed "Triple Z", he is a current PDC Tour Card holder and is a two-time winner on the PDC Development Tour. He also reached the quarter-finals at the 2021 World Series of Darts Finals. Alan Soutar (born 10 January 1978) is a Scottish professional darts player who competes in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. A PDC Tour Card holder since 2021, Soutar won his first PDC title at 2024 Players Championship 11. He reached his first major quarter-final at the 2022 Grand Slam. The PDC Order of Merit is a world ranking system used by one of the darts organisations, the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). Following the 2007 PDC World Darts Championship it superseded a world ranking system based on points being awarded for performances in ranking tournaments.
