2024 European League Of Football Season
The 2024 ELF season was the fourth season of the European League of Football, a professional American football league based in Europe. Seventeen teams from nine countries participated. The season started on May 25, and concluded with the ''ELF Championship Game'' in the Veltins-Arena Gelsenkirchen, Germany on September 22, 2024. Incumbent champion Rhein Fire won the title again, beating Vienna Vikings 51-20. Format The teams are divided into three conferences of 5 or 6 teams. Each team plays 12 games during the regular season. The winner of each conference, as well as the next best 3 teams, regardless of conference, qualify for the playoffs. Teams Of the 17 teams from the 2023 season, 15 are competing in 2024, and are joined by one new expansion team: Madrid Bravos. The European League of Football (ELF) is a Professional gridiron football, professional American football sports league, league based in Europe, continuing some team names and logos of the former NFL Europe. The ELF played its first season in 2021, and has 16 teams in the 2025 season. Teams are located in Austria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Hungary, Germany, Poland, Spain and Switzerland with plans to expand. Berlin Thunder (ELF)
The Berlin Thunder are an American football team in Berlin, Germany. They play in the European League of Football (ELF) Eastern Conference. History On 22 March 2021, the Berlin Thunder were announced as one of the eight teams to play in the inaugural season of the European League of Football. Their first game was against the Leipzig Kings on 20 June 2021, which they lost 27 to 37 at home. The rest of the 2021 season would not be successful either, with the only wins coming from games against the Stuttgart Surge, last in the league, and against the Barcelona Dragons at home, which also struggled. Nevertheless, the team faced adversity regarding practice facilities, equipment, injuries and more. The Helvetic Mercenaries are an American football team based in Switzerland that competes in the European League of Football (ELF). History On 4 April 2024, the owners of the Helvetic Guards, the previous ELF team based in Switzerland, announced that the team would be ceasing operations, and that a new team would be replacing them for the 2024 European League of Football season. On 11 April 2024, the logo and the name Helvetic Mercenaries was announced. The Seamen Milano are an American football team based in Milan, Italy that competed in the European League of Football. They compete in the Italian Football League. History 80s The Seamen Milano were founded by Sergio Galeotti, a shareholder of the "Giorgio Armani SpA" on October 27, 1981. The Fehérvár Enthroners are an American football team from Székesfehérvár, Hungary, established in 2007. The Enthroners are competing in the European League of Football (ELF) since 2023. The Panthers Wroclaw are an American football team in Wrocław, Poland, which was merged from Giants Wrocław and Devils Wrocław (both founded in 2005).
