2024 Edmonton Elks Season
The 2024 Edmonton Elks season was the 66th season for the team in the Canadian Football League and their 75th overall. The Elks improved upon their 4–14 record from 2023, but were eliminated from playoff contention for the fourth consecutive season. The team's 2024 season was scheduled to be the third consecutive under head coach and general manager, Chris Jones. However, after beginning the season 0–5, Jones was fired and Jarious Jackson was named interim head coach while Geroy Simon was named interim general manager. The franchise came under private ownership in August when longtime season ticket holder Larry Thompson purchased the team. The Edmonton Elks drew an average home attendance of 20,499 in 2024. West Division (CFL)
The West Division is one of the two regional divisions of the Canadian Football League (CFL), its counterpart being the East Division. With a few exceptions, a senior men's football championship has been contested in Western Canada since 1911, and with a few additional exceptions the Western champion has played the Eastern champion for the Grey Cup. Although its teams have been members of the CFL since 1958, the then-Western Football Conference remained a distinct legal entity until 1981. 2024 CFL Global Draft
The 2024 CFL global draft was a selection of non-Canadian and non-American players by Canadian Football League (CFL) teams that took place on April 30, 2024, at 11:00 am ET. It was the fourth CFL draft that pooled all of the global players together after previously having separate drafts for Mexican players and European players in 2019. Joel Dublanko (born January 12, 1998) is an American–Canadian professional football linebacker for the Edmonton Elks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). The Central Missouri Mules football program represents the University of Central Missouri in college football and competes in the NCAA Division II.
