2024 Clutch Pro Tour
The 2024 Clutch Pro Tour, titled as the 2024 Mizuno Next Gen Series for sponsorships reasons, is the fifth season of the Clutch Pro Tour, a third-tier tour recognised by the European Tour. Challenge Tour status In December 2023, it was confirmed that an additional player (three in total) from the Clutch Pro Tour Order of Merit would be awarded Challenge Tour status for the following season. OWGR inclusion In April, it was announced that all Clutch Pro Tour events that fall into Tier 1, beginning in May, would receive Official World Golf Ranking points. Schedule The following table lists official events during the 2024 season. Unofficial events The following events were sanctioned by the Clutch Pro Tour, but did not carry official money, nor were wins official. Challenge Tour feeder status In December 2022, it was announced that the Clutch Pro Tour and the Tartan Pro Tour would become official feeder tours to the Challenge Tour in place of the now-defunct PGA EuroPro Tour. The Clutch Pro Tour would offer Challenge Tour status to the top two players on the Order of Merit. Schedule The following table lists official events during the 2023 season. Clutch Pro Tour Tier 2
A clutch is a mechanical device that engages and disengages power transmission, especially from a drive shaft to a driven shaft. In the simplest application, clutches connect and disconnect two rotating shafts (drive shafts or line shafts). In these devices, one shaft is typically attached to an engine or other power unit (the driving member), while the other shaft (the driven member) provides output power for work. Typically the motions involved are rotary, but linear clutches also exist. In a motor vehicle, the clutch acts as a mechanical linkage between the engine and transmission, and briefly disconnects, or separates the engine from the transmission system.
